Default AMD on an ECS near perfect install...

Hi, As the title says I have a near perfect setup on an AMD/ECS combo. The couple of things not working are:
crashes if I try to update to 10.6 .. and any USB ,i.e Flash sticks, must be inserted before boot up. If I insert after boot up they aren't recognised.
*The only slight prob I have come across so far is Safari crashes sometimes.*
I have a Mac G4 so know my way around but wanted to see if I could have a Hackintosh and will say am well pleased with the result.
I searched for a kext for the sound and installed a Sound Blaster kext but that didn't work ?
I would like to share my settings so could someone inform me as to where on the forum I go to, please ?

    * I had installed Glims and this appears to be the fault. I uninstalled and Safari seems to be OK.
I was using the speakers on my Monitor which were muted.

Yes, its a pleasure to have the AMDs running (almost) perfectly.
Your box´s specs are best put in the signature, accessible via the Control Panel button on top of the window, right hand side.
My board had issues with USB too, until I disabled "USB Legacy" in BIOS.
You can update as far as 10.6.8 but you better use the combo update and install the suitable legacy kernel before restarting your box. Some kexts may have to be reinstalled too.

I feel nawcom´s and a retail DVD would be best to do a working install with AMDs.

I don't have the USB legacy option in my BIOS, it's pretty bare as BIOS's go. I have another AM2 comp. It's a Gigabyte M/B with a better CPU, which at some time in the future I might try out.
Re-Update.. I have tried twice to update, the official and the combo. In both attempts I don't get the option to stop the restart it happens automatically as in I don't get a chance to do anything.
I have the Nawcom ModCD and also the retail of Snow Leopard, but when I insert the SN all I get is a grey screen with an apple which just sits there doing apparently nothing ? I haven't delved into the why's and wherefores of that yet.

I suppose, you took some time to let the SL DVD boot? If noting happens after ten minutes or so, it may have failed.
The combo update should definetly offer a restart button when its through, that would be the time to install your legacy kernel.
Maybe you are missing a kext for your pATA drive, someone else may know.

I have a fresh install and have what I consider a perfect setup. Updated to 10.6.8. Everything is working good including Safari.
