I'm pretty much a novice at this whole "hackintosh" thing myself, but I've stumbled upon a decent solution for a couple problems I've had with installing iDeneb 1.6 10.5.8 on my AMD system. I've noticed some other users having similar problems so if you haven't yet, try this!
First of all a quick rundown of my specs:
AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition @ 3.6GHz
ASRock 770iCafe Motherboard (AMD 770/SB710 chipset)
EVGA Geforce GTS250 512MB (G92)
HDD and DVDROM are both SATA set to ACHI in bios
Previously, my installation of iDeneb 1.6 was going smoothly as far as booting and getting the OS running. My post-installation woes included laggy mouse input and overall shoddy video performance, along with the audio being wonky with just popping and cracking in the sound.
I have several OSX86-type distributions lying around, as I've been attempting this for a while on a few different systems. So after being frustrated with my problem-ridden install of iDeneb 1.6, I decided to pop in the Hazard 10.6.6 installer and give it a spin. What happened here was I accidentally booted into my existing OS X installation using the Hazard DVD's bootloader, which happened to be Chameleon v2 RC5 r643.
After simply booting with this DVD, my problems had vanished! Mouse and video input/performance was perfect, as was the audio all of a sudden! It didn't hit me at first though what I had done.
A couple days later (which is today as of this post) I formatted the entire drive of the PC I am working with and decided to start from scratch, as I will be dual booting Windows and Mac OS. I got the iDeneb 1.6 (10.5.8) installer back out again, got a working installation and was greeted by the same issues. After a few minutes I remembered my experience from before and decided to go looking for an installer for a newer bootloader. (By the way, the iDeneb installer here used Chameleon V2 RC2) I came to this site, found a match for what was on the Hazard DVD I mentioned (Chameleon v2 RC5 r643), installed the package, and it was like magic! Video and mouse is working perfectly and audio is fixed with no changes in kexts post-install.
I know this is quite a long post to read, but to summarize...
For those of you AMD users having these same types of issues with mouse, video and sound, TRY A NEWER BOOTLOADER! Once again, I used Chameleon v2 RC5 r634. A different or newer version may work for you, but I highly recommend using this particular version for iDeneb 1.6 on AMD systems.
