Default Problems with Acer Aspire 7740G

    Hi there,

I have been trying to install hackintosh on my notebook for a few days now without any success.

    The hardware configuration is:
    Intel core i5 430M
    Ati HD 5650
    4GB Ram

I am following the iBoot + MultiBeast method, but I get stuck at the combo update v 10.6.8

    My procedure:
Use iBoot to run installer with '-v GraphicsEnabler=No'
Use iBoot to run OSX with '-x -v GraphicsEnabler=No'
Use a CD to copy the Combo update to harddrive, and run the installer.

Then I get this kernel panic error message when the installer is moving files into place:

I also tried installing the UpdateHelper, reboot and then install the Combo Update, that worked, but then MultiBeast was unable to install on my system. Multibeast did not display a error code. I don't understand this because UpdateHelper is made for Sandy Bridge, this is an arrandale processor. ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin.kext is not working on my system and UpdateHelper solved this part by removing it?

I have tried a few things now:

    1. Install osx, run osx, run the combo update, which gets frozen with the error code from the message above, boot and get the
    acpi_smc_platformplugin:start waitforservice(resourcematching(appleintelcpupower management) timed out
    error message

    2. Install osx, run osx, Run the UpdateHelper, reboot, install the combo update, install multibeast which fails and when restarting, the computer keeps resetting at boot, there's too little time to read the error code.

    3. Install osx, run osx, backup AppleACPIPlatform.kext, IO80211Family.kext IOPCIFamily.kext, delete IOPlatformPluginFamily.kext, run updatehelper, reboot, install combo update v10.6.8 and install multibeast.
Boot with iBoot, run KextUtitlity, reboot, start with '-x -v GraphicsEnabler=No'.

The 3rd method seems to work now, but only when using the iBoot disk, when booting from Chameleon with '-x -v GraphicsEnabler=No', the booting process stops at NVClockX: [Warning] no nVidia graphics adapters found
    NVClockX: [Warning]

while when booting with the iBoot disk and '-x -v GraphicsEnabler=No' I get NVClockX: [Warning] no nVidia graphics adapters found
NVClockX: [Warning] TĖS and the system starts

Does anyone know what this means?

Run UpdateHelper from TonyMac's website before you update...
