EDIT: This problem has been resolved, goto the section in bold.
Hey guys,
I decided to try and use ethernet recently but the system never recognised that i had a cable plugged in. So i went and downloaded the kext from: http://www.kexts.com/view/46-download.html
I noticed it said 10.6.x wasnt supported but a comment seemed to say otherwise so i tried it out and ethernet still doesnt work for me, anyone got any suggestions?
I have an Eee PC 901 with 10.6.7 and 2GB RAM.
Any suggestions that may help are appreciated but at the moment i have no means of a full system backup.
Also, im pretty sure my ethernet port isnt damaged.
If it helps, system profiler reports:
Also, i apologize if this has been answered before. If that turns out to be the case then feel free to point me in the right direction and remove this post if necessary.Type: Ethernet Controller

EDIT: I seem to have gotten ethernet to work. Download the 10.5 kext i linked below and then install it via your preferred method. Then remove and re-add the ethernet adapter to the network settings. The only issue is, at first (whether an ethernet cable is connected or not) the status will be "Unknown State" so follow the steps below.
Select Manual, and setup an IP as well as the other info needed.
Now disconnect the ethernet cable and select Using DHCP
Apply the settings
Connect the ethernet cable , at first it may say "Unknown State" but wait a few seconds and it'll work. If for whatever reason DHCP doesnt work for you, manually setting an IP should work.
