Question Help! OS X 10.6.3 on AMD won't boot without ModCD

    Hello everyone.

I've successfully installed OS X 10.6.3 on my system, using the "OS X 10.6 on AMD" guide on this forum. I followed the guide to the letter except for installing the chameleon boot-loader, I choose the "chameleon wizard 4.0.1" from the download section instead.

My problem is, without the Nawcom ModCD. The system will not start. If i try booting "normal" it shows me the apple logo and nothing more happens. If i try -v, -f, -F, -x, or -s then the screen goes black and nothing more. Although, using the Nawcom ModCD 0.3.2 the system starts without a problem.

I have also tried the boot-loader used in the guide with the same results. And I have tried applying the EvOreboot.kext with Kext Wizard. No luck.

I have not updated OS X since install. Still on 10.6.3.

Motherboard: ASUS Crosshair IV Formula, AM3, AMD890FX+, DDR3

Processor: 3,2Ghz, AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition

    RAM: 4Gb (2+2), Crucial DDR3 BallistiX, 1333Mhz

    Graphics: PowerColor Radeon HD 6850, 1GB GDDR5

I would really appreciate some help. Thanks!

I'm in the EXACT same boat... except mine is an AMD Phenom II x4 910 with a Radeon HD 4300.

    Would love an answer...

    Thanks in advance!

Question Help! OS X 10.6 on AMD won't boot without ModCD

(Sorry for repost, but I saw that I had posted in the guides & tutorials section earlier. So here it comes again.)

I have tried the boot-loader used in the guide with the same results. And I have tried applying the EvOreboot.kext with Kext Wizard. No luck.

Also, I have not updated OS X since install. Still on 10.6.3. Because when I update to 10.6.8 it doesn't even boot using the ModCD.

Motherboard: ASUS Crosshair IV Formula, AM3, AMD890FX+, DDR3

Processor: 3,2Ghz, AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition

    RAM: 4Gb (2+2), Crucial DDR3 BallistiX, 1333Mhz

    Graphics: PowerColor Radeon HD 6850, 1GB GDDR5

I would really appreciate some help. Thanks!
Again, I'm sorry for the double thread.
