    Default Ok, I have finally gotten Multibeast, and Combo Update...

    But still need the -x to boot the system. I also need the disk still, or it boots to a black screen. I think I have kexts causing issues, but I do not know how to address this, and what I need to change.

    Can some nice individual(s) help get the kexts figured out?

    I have no access to the internet, and no access to dvds/ cds on the hackintosh. I am assuming that this is because of the safe mode boot, but I do not know how to address this.

    I am getting somewhere..just don't know where...lol
    My Hackintosh system:

    GPU==> Nvidia geforce 210
    Memory ==> 2gb ram

    HDD==> Samsung 80 gb IDE

    anyone point me towards a kext how-to?

    I google it, and all I get is people running their intel i3/i5/i7's.

    I know I ask a lot of questions, but how to learn if you don't ask what you don't understand?

    So, I don't have an ATI video card, and in /Systems/extensions i have about 20 kexts that are for ATI..can I just delete them?

    ok, so deleted the ati kexts and the system will still only boot using iboot and -x

    I guess, I can go one by one, but there is a lot of kexts in there...?

    alrighty...I deleted the voodoo hd kext, and I can now boot into SL10.6.6 using just -v...not needed, I know, but hey..no safe mode!!!!!

    all I need is two things:
    to get going now is the network....I have network being found, but dial up adapter, not lan..
    and secondly I can't boot without using modhack....

    any help is greatly appreciated.

    If you can only boot with the modhack try the kextstat trick I learn you to see the difference in which kexts are loaded.

    Use Systeminfo to find a kext for LAN.

    For me it shows up like this:
    10ec;Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd.;8168;RTL8111/8168B PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet controller;Network controller;Ethernet controller

    Ok, I have run system info, and I have the following 2 screens afterwards:

    I do not know how to add kexts to make the network adaptor work.

    That would help on my pc, but the Hack doesn't have internet, so that wouldn't really help out there.

    So close I can taste it,

    I really do appreciate all the help everyone here is being.

    Ok, I have followed the above instructions. I get no errors during the install, and the kext is now in the /System/Library/Extensions folder. I cannot however access the internet. I have it setup just like the instructions said...

    This is what network diagnostics said:

    I have my lan cable running straight to a switch that the pc I am typing on now is hooked to. So I know I have internet here, and I have reset the router, modem, and switch.

    Again, I appreciate the help that everyone is giving me.
