    Default perfect install BUT.... chameleon refuse to boot

    Hello,

    first of all i'm new to this forum , and i just installed snowleopard on my amd 64+ dualcore
    using the modcd guide here.

    the installation went exactly as described, and i have a running snow leopard , however,
    when i installed chameleon V2.1 and i restarted i got the chameleon menu and it started booting , but then it shuts down my pc

    anyone can elaborate on something i might have missed when installing

    thx

    Jurrie

    Did you use nawcom´s mod CD 0.3.1 or 0.3.2? If so, there is no need for installing a bootloader to your HDD.
    Nawcom´s mod CD already did that for you.
    Try to boot with your mod CD into your installation and look for a pkg in preboot.dmg/postboot.dmg and run the Chameleon pkg another time. If that should fail, Chimera 1.7 might do. At last a new clean install with 0.3.1 may help.

    In case you are installing on a AF HDD (Advanced Format) no bootloader will work without some tinkering.

    System upgrades are best done with the combo update from Apple´s servers. As written many times in other threads, the matching legacy kernel MUST be installed before restart. AMD boxes need a patched kernel to operate, as pointed out in AppliArt´s guide.
