Thread: 7300gt 512mb Black Screen with cursor after boot

Installed Lion on my Dell Optiplex 380 using unibeast usb created from retail 10.7 dvd. Using PCIe Nvidia 7300GT 512mb but can only get it to work at 1024x768 without driver support. Tried multibeast with no dsdt, as well as extracted and patched dsdt, and box still loads but without nvidia driver support. With graphicsenabler=yes no change. With EFI string or NVEnabler kext it almost loads, screen goes grey with mouse cursor but then a few seconds later goes black with a white cursor and seemingly retries in a loop, flickering.

It seems the EFI string and NVEnabler methods are working and finding the card but maybe the Lion nvidia drivers aren't hooking up right?

If it's anything like the 7200/7300GS then this card will not run on Lion unless you have 32 bit enablers. I don't think SL or Lion support these cards. Unless someone else here can prove me wrong?

Boot in 32-bit mode > arch=i386.
