Default Sony VAIO VPCSB Hybrid Graphics, Intel Sandy bridge 2

Dear all I have a new Sony VAIO VPCSB with hybrid graphics. Intel integrated and the discrete is ATI Radeon 6470. This is not properly working in Linux yet and it is not supported correctly by the Linux ATI drivers. I would like to try Lion osx86 on it. Upgrading somehow from Leopard is not possible since Leopard is not booting on that machine. As I said it is Sandy-bridge 2 and Leopard was far before its time.

So my only option is some hacked Lion DVD or USB which I could use to boot. But has anybody confirmed installing Lion on a Sandy bridge 2 based laptop with hybrid graphics? If yes, what is the process? I repeat installing Leopard and upgrading it to Lion is not an option because Leopard cannot be installed on this laptop.

    Hi guys ...

Nobody knows? Recent laptops are all hybrid graphics based. Something should be done to resolve such issues. Nobody has experience installing Lion on such a laptop? By the way, there is not a BIOS feature which deactivates the ATI card so you are left only with the integrated one. So such a workaround is not an option.

Sorry that no one has replied yet. Sandy Bridge Intel HD 3000 graphics is natively supported in Lion. So you should try installing Lion instead of Leopard or Snow Leopard. Not sure about the ATI, but you will have full QE/CI using the Intel HD 3000 card.
