    Question iATKOS L2 Post-Install Issues

    Hi guys,
I'm stuck after installation of iATKOS L2 on a HP 4530s.
The boot hangs at the apple logo. When I boot in verbose it stops here.

I found another thread where the use appears to have the same issue.

They suggest to delete all Appleintel*.kext. How do I do this?

    at the prompt boot: ?
    I typed rm -rf /Volumes/Macintosh\ HD/System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelGMA*

but it said can't find rm

    Think i'm doing something wrong?!

    rm -rf /Volumes/Macintosh\ HD/System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelGMA*

    rm -rf /Volumes/Macintosh\ HD/System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelHD3000*

    rm -rf /Volumes/Macintosh\ HD/System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelHDGraphics*

    rm -rf /Volumes/Macintosh\ HD/System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelSNBGraphicsFB.kext

    rm -rf /Volumes/Macintosh\ HD/System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelIntegratedFramebuffer.kext

    rm -rf /Volumes/Macintosh\ HD/System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelSNBVA.bundle

    rm -rf /Volumes/Macintosh\ HD/System/Library/Extensions/ATI*

    rm -rf /Volumes/Macintosh\ HD/System/Library/Extensions/GeForce*

    rm -rf /Volumes/Macintosh\ HD/System/Library/Extensions/NVDANV*

    chown -R root:wheel /Volumes/Macintosh\ HD/System/Library/Extensions/*

    chmod -R 755 /Volumes/Macintosh\ HD/System/Library/Extensions/*
I'm a muppet, I read it again and now understand.

I booted with iATKOS L2 and typed the commands into the terminal. When I restart I get the same error

Stops with this, so does that mean I haven't removed the files?

Sorry, I forgot to mention that you need to replace "Macintosh\ HD" for the name of your OS X partition "exactly" as is, with upper and lower cases...

Cheers mate! That's why it wouldn't auto complete when I pressed tab!

I did as you said and used my partition name. Now I rebooted with -x and it's stuck on the apple logo with the progress spinner spinning round. It hasn't frozen though like normal.

    It's not working when I try -v -f , or -v -x. I'm getting a different error now though.

Any ideas what I could try?

What you see on the screen booting in Verbose Mode???

    Hangs at the same spot???

Try repairing permissions from the Installer`s terminal with the commands below...

    Code:
    chown -R root:wheel /Volumes/YOURDISK/System/Library/Extensions/*

    chmod -R 755 /Volumes/YOURDISK/System/Library/Extensions/*
Then try to boot using -f -v flags...

    Yes, -f -v fails too.

I'll try repairing the permissions tomorrow and report back

    Now it`s a different issue...

On the first image you had the "DSMOS has arrived" freeze, this last you have "Waiting for DSMOS" that means that you don`t have FakeSMC.kext on your /S/L/E or /E/E folder...

You are booting from HDD or using your Installer`s boot loader???

I removed the iATKOS L2 DVD after installation and was booting from the HDD when I received the DSMOS has arrived issue. It was late last night, but I see what you mean.
"DSMOS has arrived" has changed to "Waiting for DSMOS"

What does Waiting for DSMOS mean?

Means that you need to install FakeSMC.kext on your /System/Library/Extensions folder (only FakeSMC) > FakeSMC V4 and plugins - Downloads - OSx86.net
