That depends on what method you are using to install OS X...

You are using a Distro DVD or the Retail method???

If was Distro, press F8 key when you see the message on the screen, write -x and press ENTER...

Well, I don`t have idea on how this works... I never even see this niresh DVD...

But if there`s a screen to select the boot device, this is the place that you need to enter the flags...

PLEASE TAKE TIME TO READ THIS ..
well..i didnot really understand where to input the flag..because when i inset the dvd and boot from it it tells me to press a key then a white screen appears with an apple logo which takes about 10 mins to load and then i am asked to select my language. and then using the "disk utility" i formatted my partiton with mac-os journaled and then customized my installation and then after installing for about 4 -5 minutes (it says 16 minutes remaining) i all of a sudden get the screen. Nothing happens after i press f8 key there.. Or have i missed something!!!

Unfortunately I don`t have much to tell about where you can insert flags using this installer...

The only way that I can help you is from a picture of the screen that appears telling to "press a key"...

Maybe I can see a way that allows you insert boot flags...
