Question New build setup problems with compatible hardware.

Hello all. I read many guides on how to build a system. I ordered all my parts after careful selection from what I read around to make sure my hardware is compatible build. So First I will list my hardware:

-Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD3 LGA1155 ATX Motherboard Intel Z68 : Various sources recommend this board if used with a compatible graphics card.

-Intel Core i7-2600K 3.40 GHz Quad-Core Unlocked CPU

    -Corsair Dominator GT CMT16GX3M4X2133C9 16GB 4x4GB DDR3 RAM

-SAPPHIRE Vapor-X Radeon HD 6870 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCIE Graphics card: I see this for sale and listed as a osx86 compatible card. I also read that some users report that it works oob.

    -SATA 1 TB HD
    -SATA dvd drive

Ok so at first I could boot up to all versions of osx86 10.7.x install. But once setup is over and the system reboots. I can get to the mouse and the color of the desktop starts to fade but after a few frames crashes. It looks like the system keeps booting to the desktop. Its just the graphics are not responsive. I have seen this before with osx86 when there is a graphics driver issue.

So I tried to do cleen installs over and over again. I treid to enable graphics mode to yes, I tried ati init etc... none of them worked and its the same issue. It boots up. Looks like its got full res for a moment. Mouse comes up background fades to a light color and then then graphics just freeze.

Now for some reason none of my osx86 installs even want to complete no more. I keep getting the installer encountered an error near then end now. On all versions of osx86. I did not change any bios settings or hardware. I was just trying to find a good install combo to get my graphics to work. Even a full disk partition from disk utility does not seem to want to fix the issue before the start of the re install.

any hints would be great. I'm a little fustrated that it did not work Perhaps I don'r have the best hardware to work oob?
    Thanks!

I got a very basic install to work with no drivers at all. Used one of Niresh12495 builds of 10.7.3. Problem I now have is a system that does not have any built in audio (ALC889) or Built in Lan function (RTL811E) My graphics card is undetected as well. I have tried the OS setup by selecting the various matching drivers for at lease the built in audio and lan but they dont do anything at all. I even tried downloading various kexts and try to install them but no luck, I'm thinking if I could at lease get lan to work maybe it will do an OS update and grab the drivers for my hardware to function?

What I still don't understand is from what im still reading.. My hardware should work oob. Even Built in motherboard lan/audio is reported to work fine. I did some more searching and found others as well using the video card I have...

Could anyone with the same hardware let me know how you got your onboard devices to work and this videocard of mine as well!!

Thanks.. I'm really stuck and confused at this point... I even looked in the bios to make sure the onboard devices are on...

Well, I got the graphics working now. I simply installed the atixxx kexts from the backup folder that setup had created when it removed them.. I guess some other graphic kext was causing some errors,, I did have a funky color when I booted to the desktop ..But a few graphics settings from the control panel fixed that issue right away. Now my graphic card shows up properly and all...

I'm still left with no motherboard ethernet/audio.. Any clues what works for this GA-Z68XP-UD3 LGA1155 board?
or do I have to get a pci soundcard and ethernet? I was hoping to use onboard if its compatible .

Thanks! I can't seem to get my network to start... It is strange as when I power up the computer the ethernet lights don't show up on the back port of both the pc and router. It's like the onboard ethernet port is just "dead" so no wonder after the driver install it's still not finding anything. It might be an error with my board. I might try and cleer cmos maybe. But I don't think that will do it... Anyhow I guess my system works now -lan If I can't get it to work. I will have to get a pci lan card installed instead. Just would of been nice to use onboard since its there...

If the lights don't show up there's definitely a hardware problem. It could be disabled in the BIOS?
Can you try on another port on the router?
But this board is not that old? The warranty from Gigabyte is 3 years.

I boot up in Windows and it don't detect the lan port.. Must be the board Its active in the bios

For now I got a dlink dwe-121 I think its called. Little usb wlan, It seems to be working ok for now.

As for the audio. I could not get it to work with the provided link. Instead I tried to install ALC889 with the multibeast setup and it worked.

    Thanks for the infos.
