    Default [SOLVED]Mountain Lion and Kernelcache

    Hello guys!!!

Anyone of you had problems using the option UseKernelCache=Yes to start the mLion???

Here, when I use Extensions.mkext I don`t have any issue, however, using Kernelcache I cannot even boot the system...

PS: Just for record, I`m not a Developer but I have an account...

You moved the kexts to S/L/E? Here works Mountain Lion perfect, even with UseKernelCache=yes!

    @ajschot
It isn't for older computers.. With UseKernelCache=yes in the org.Chameleon.boot.plist Lion will boot up faster, because of using the kernel cache. When you dont use it, it will load each extensions again (same as -f).

    ?????

    You know what does Kernelcache???

BTW, like I told on my post above, without Kernelcache works perfect for me too... But that`s not the point...

I want to know if this is something that`s only happening to me or no...

    Hy imick!!!

Almost since I started using Lion that I only use Kernelcache...

/Extra/Extensions for me does`t exists anymore...

But it's good to know that works fine for you... I'll do the basics again to see if help with something...

    Thanks for reply!!!

    This may be the problem.
    I think you should use /Extra with org.Chameleon.boot.plist (UseKernelCache=Yes)

    Then it will be fine
Support requests by PM will remain unanswered, sorry.

UseKernelCache=Yes works for me too; Lion & MLion.

Kexts in S/L/E: fakesmc.kext, network kext, bin patched AppleHDA.kext ("vanilla" as it gets) + LegacyALC889.kext
    Extra: dsdt.aml file, smbios.plist, org.chameleon.Boot.plist

Boot loader r1820 and Extra folder on Lion's partition; boots MLion as well

    Hope it helps...

Sorry guys, I meant /Extra/Extensions and not only /Extra...

    That was my mistake...

And the Chameleon r1820 was the only one that worked for me...

Unfortunately on my machine I can`t use Clover, XPC or IBOOT due to some kind of Hardware incompatibility
as you can see here > Clover - Project OS X Forums ...

    Hello guys!

    I did the basics again...

    Fix disk permissions using DiskUtility...

    Recreated the Kernelcahe with...

    Code:
    kextcache -system-prelinked-kernel -all-loaded
    Without success!!!

I thought the problem could be the fact that I use Chameleon on the EFI partition, due to some possible
conflict with Lion, so, I installed in by conventional method on the Mountain Lion`s disk...

    Also without success ...

The only bootloader that works on my machine is Chameleon r1820, tried to update to r1823 but I have an automatic reboot > onehalfkiller.com » Chameleon Daily UPDATES

I have no problem with the system itself, and this is not a cumber...

    Just a bit strange ...

    Hi kyndder,
Same for me on my GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3, only 1820 works. The others give just like you a reboot.
Must be a Chameleon thing with Gigabyte I think

Did you already tried to use a EFI boot loader like Clover, IBOOT or XPC???

The most strange thing on my machine is the fact that I can`t use any other boot loader than Chameleon...
