At what point is it hanging with this error? Can you boot the installer and get through the first half of the installation? Does it give you this error when you reboot half way through the install? Did you remember to put FakeSMC.kext and NullCPUPowerManagement.kext in the System/Library/Extensions folder on the disk where you installed Mountain Lion? You can't just drag and drop them. You need to use Kext Utility to do it correctly and then repair disk permissions afterwords or it will never work.

I always just drag and dropped fakesmc, and I fixed the kexts only after I booted the newly installed osx. So I think it should boot with just drag and dropping. The only thing is that I needed to boot with "UseKernelCache=No".

So StaartjeZ, if you have fakesmc in /System/Library/Extensions/, then try to boot with "UseKernelCache=No".
