Thread: kexts help with mountain lion asus p5k

I have an asus p5k after installing mountain lion i have a problem with audio and network
could you please help me finding these kexts?

Hi, just busy with mine and got the network working by:

System
Library
Extensions
IONetworkingFamily.kext - Show Package Contents
Contents
PlugIns - and drop Marvell88E8056.kext into it

Get the Marvell88E8056 kext here:
Information: Asus P5k-E Wifi Install Lion Mountain « Tuen's Blog
and download the Extra Extension File V1 containing that file.

I usually install just about all of my kext using M-beast. Using M-beast, if I remember correctly, the network is Realtek’s Gigabit Ethernet 2.0.6

Don't use it to install anything else but kexts!!!! Installing Easy-b will almost always brick your system or make something else not work!!! I have done it at least 3 times with undesirable results!!!!

I also have an Asus P5K motherboard.
After I installed mountain lion, the computer will not boot. It is only the gray screen with the apple.
Do you have any idea what can I do that?

I have the same problem... i have tried several solutions.... nothing seems to work.

the latest is that i manually build the hd from scratch by restoring the Base System DMG and then extracting all Packages.

This works and then i get the install script to configure a user and network but then when it creates the user, the user cannot log in? just sits there.

is there an easier way to install on P5K Asus. Going on a week now with dozens of different theories.
