Default 10.7.4 works great, how do I upgrade to 10.8?

10.7.4 works great, even sleep works well. My extra folder is on the "Lion" drive itself, I have four hard drives, Snow Leopard is on one and two, Windows7 on three and "Lion" on hard drive four.

Can I just download the "Mountain Lion" installer and upgrade 10.7?

    I appreciate any easy solutions.

    Kind regards,
    Barnabas

No. You'll need to make USB installer, boot it and then you can upgrade your Lion installation to 10.8.

Okay, I can do this. My Snow Leopard drives are vanilla, no boot or kext files, but when I did install "Lion" I had trouble getting it to boot unless I directly installed MultiBeast onto the Lion drive itself. I should be able to make a boot stick that accommodates "Snow Leopard" "Lion" and "Mountain Lion". MB: Gigabyte EP45-UD3P CPU: Intel Quad 9600 Ram: 8 GB Video: NVIDIA GeForce 9800

I just upgraded my 10.7.4 to 10.8 recently with some tiny hiccup. My Snow Leopard and Lion are the retail version, with some kext, I created Mountain Lion installer on pendrive, boot from it and install it on my 10.7.4 partition, it upgraded my OS X to MT, which retaining my data.

I'm using Q9400 and nVidia 9800GT 512MB as well with Asus P5Q Deluxe, after upgrade, I need to reapply the kext for network, use the NVDAResman & NVDAN50HAL kexts from DP4 with my device id patched in, with NVEnabler 64.kext, and also the AppleHDA which conflict with my VoodooHDA.

It does take me many tries to figure out what went wrong in the first place though. Hope this give you some idea.
