Default Ps/2 keyboard with USB mouse

Hey all I'm wondering if anyone is aware of a good fix to be able to use a ps/2 keyboard alongside a USB mouse. I've found a few kexts but I kept getting kernel panics. I may not be installing them correctly. All I did was drag them into my extensions folder using Mac drive in windows 7. I cannt use kext helper because I cannot type at all inside of snow leopard. My keyboard did work during installation though. I do not have access to a USB keyboard. If anyone knows of a good kext to try as well as how I'd go about installing it(sorry I'm still brand new to this) I'd appreciate it

    Thanks!

Went and bought a cheap usb keyboard, got tired of messing with it lol. However I still have to use my PS/2 keyboard until I boot. My usb keyboard won't work unless I have legacy USB enabled, but with legacy USB enabled OSX won't boot, or even make it to the installer for that matter. Is that normal? Anyhow I finally got my system up and running, I had to use a the SnowLeo distro tho, as nawcom's disc kept giving me kernel panics when I tried to install Up and running on 10.6.8 and everything seems stable. Any ideas on why my usb keyboard won't work and I am forced to use PS/2 up until I'm booted in to OSX?

    Try this...

Enable USB Legacy on your BIOS and use this flag`s at boot > USBLegacyOff=Yes -v

    Tell if works...

OK cool that did work, however I had to type it like this:
"USBLegacyOff"="Yes" -v (It had to be in quotes)

So I presume I can make this permanent by adding it into my com.apple.boot.plist?? Would I need to add it into the one in the /extra folder or the one in s/l/p ?

Have a suggestion on which chameleon to get? I just updated my Chameleon but I only replace the boot file. There's so many different versions out there not sure which one to use. Lizard is telling me it can't find org.chameleon.boot.plist

You remember what version you are using???

If the version is above of r1100 you can stay with him and just made the changes with Lizard...

If no, try this > http://www.kexts.com/view/1676-chameleon_2.0_r1370_[vs].html

can't remember which one I d/led. It does show up in my system preferences menu tho. ONly thing is, I don't see an option for usblegacy=off anywhere in here

EDIT: I installed the one you said and lizard worked. However, when it adds the legacyusboff command it wont boot if my legacy support is turned on in my bios. ONly way it will boot with legacy turned on in my bios is if i manually type it out in the bootloader. Weird huh?
