Your build is very similar to mine, I'd imagine if one of us can get it working, we'll both have it working. Not many people talking about it. I found a few posts with people running bulldozer having success of 10.7.4, that's what I'm working on doing right now.

    My build is :
    CPU: AMD FX-8120
    MOBO: Asus Sabertooth 990fx
    RAM: Corsair 8gb x1
    GPU: Nvidia 240GT
    ROM: 2x 60gb SSD
    1x 1TB HDD

I'll let you know what I can find.

    Hi guys,
I too am also having trouble getting anything to start on my hardware.

    I have:

    AMD FX-8150 CPU
    Gigabyte AM3+ 990FX Motherboard
    8GB DDR3 RAM
MSI (AMD) Radeon HD 6850 1GB DDR5 Graphics
    1TB SATA3 HDD (Ubuntu 12.04 LTS 64-bit)
500GB SATA HDD (Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit with 100GB planned for osx)

Any ideas? Im currently downloading the 10.6 HAZARD version iso (google) to try out, as it supports AMD chipsets.
    So far ive tried:
    iatkos L2
    iatkos v1.0i
    and retail snowleopard 10a432

    with no luck. :-(

I *might* know why it won't work... Have you ever heard of a "legacy kernel"? That's what's needed for AMD CPU's and I do not believe there is one available for OS X Lion yet. Correct me if I'm wrong... lol

Yeah, I've tried using legacy, the issue I'm having is not having a DSDT for my motherboard (at least I think that's the issue). I can't find one for the Asus Sabertooth 990fx.

here you go but i don't suggest lion for AMD [AMD] 10.7.3 Guide - Experimental Only - InsanelyMac Forum

i have been fucking with AMD on lion and it will never work correctly the kernel is just not compatible you will have a fun time installing and horrible time using.
AMD snow Leo is all we have.
i switched to intel two weeks ago, cause progress stopped on lion AMD legacy_kernel.
    good luck.

also have the Sabertooth 990FX Motherboard with the AMD FX8150 8-core CPU... I've been at this for 16 hours straight, and so far the closest i've gotten is the Snow Leopard Installer 'attempting' to load. It hangs right when it tries to detect the ethernet card. I'm using the Nawcom cd to boot into the installer, with the flags "-v legacy_kernel cpus=1 busratio=18 maxmem=4096". but every time, it just hangs when it tries to detect the ethernet stuff. I've even tried the flag "EthernetBuiltIn=Yes" that i saw somewhere in these forums, but that just causes it to hang as well, but at least it'll pop up with 'waiting for root device' every so often instead of outright freezing...

This whole thing is really starting to get me pissed >.> I've bought the dvds for it, but they dont work, and i've tried the havok copy as well and it still wont install anything... its like NOTHING freaking works for this motherboard.. if there was a way to just shut off ethernet all together for the install, then i'd be able to at least make some progress

if you're talking to me about a pic, there was one already uploaded in a thread i had started the other day. though, i got past the freeze but am now getting a problem that i haven't heard of anyone else getting before. currently the only way i've been able to successfully get the installer to load, is by switching the sata ports every time i try a boot with a dvd, and then it'll do the 'preparing install' thing, and then gets an error about an iokit. so i fixed THAT problem by getting a SL VM and loading it up on my intel laptop, and was able to make a usb boot drive through that. but the problem i've found, is that the sabertooth motherboard can NOT use usb boot method. it is literally IMPOSSIBLE. during any sort of boot loading (whether Linux, Windows, or Mac) the motherboard shuts off all USB support. so if using a usb boot method, during the 'loading' of the installer, it gets cut off because the usb support has been 'unloaded' (hence all the 'usbf . . . . unloaded during sleep' errors).

so, to fix that i just took the hard drive i was going to install to, and wiped it completely. then put two partitions on it, one for SL to be installed to, and one to ACT as a usb installer. soooo its basically taking the USB boot method, and applying it to the actual hard drive itself (connected the hard drive to my laptop via a Sata to USB dongle). that way the VM could see the hard drive, then just installed chameleon onto the drive, then restored the dvd image to the drive without erasing.

So now it loads up, and the only flags that i've found that is needed with a Sabertooth 990FX motherboard and AMD FX 8150 CPU is the -v cpus=1

But, now a different problem has come up. once the isntaller loads up to where you can select a language for the install process, it freezes completely. the mouse moves jaggedly around and 3 seconds later it just locks up completely. idk how to exactly fix this... so, was gonna try to recreate this using a dvd, but chameleon doesn't detect a dvd drive as something to 'install' too.. so, now i've tried just using a normal chameleon boot cd, but its giving me errors about parsing a plist and doesn't even boot up.

need to find some way to get this to work >< i mean if it can get to the install screen, then it should be working.. just, need to find out why it freezes!

i you have a vm running then you can use the dmg (osxdvd10.6) and install from vm/os by

    open snow.dmg> show all files app> system/installation/packages/osinstall.mpkg

and install to the blank partition

before restart install chameleon and kext files( u can use multi beast)

then make partition active and reboot and cross your fingers

this way you don't have to install with boot method
