    Default Need help with ALC892

I'm running iAtkos L2 Lion and I've tried just about every ALC892 kext I could find and I can not get my audio to work. My USB headset works fine, but not my onboard sound. Everything runs fine except the sound. Any help would be great.
    I have this setup:

    iAtkos L2 Lion
    MSI X58A-GD45 motherboard
    12gb ram
    Nvidia card
    Intel i7 950

Read it and try it: tonymacx86 Blog: New Optimized Audio Drivers for Onboard Realtek ALC 889 and ALC 892
You need a proper DSDT with HDEF. Remove all voodooHDA or other stuff you installed for sound.

Thank you for your response, I got the next loaded, it worked this time because I tried that next before. All though it loaded, I still get no sound. In the prefs. the master sound is all the way down and greyed out. I don't know how to edit DSDT files so I guess I'm beat for sound. Maybe I should just buy a mac

No you don't need to buy a Mac. If you want to spend some money buy a Gigabyte motherboard.
Then you can make you own DSDT with Auto Patcher. There is no better way to make one.
My GA-EX58-UD5 is working 100%, sleep, sound, firewire, every thing

But for now: download the latest MultiBeast for Lion: tonymacx86 Information

    Select this:

In the worst case you can always buy a cheap USB sound: USB 3D Sound Adapter
Most USB sound cards work out of the box

I'v got this one, sounds better than onboard audio:
TERRATEC - Sound - External - Aureon Dual USB
Nothing to install, just plug and play

Yeah I have tried that. When I had SL on my old pc everything ran fine and that was a lower end(not at the time of the build) and it was fine. I may just have to get an adapter. Thank you for your reply.
