Default VoodooHDA.kext 2.7.4 crackling and distorcion sound in Mountain Lion with ALC262

I tryed various .kext to ALC262, but It only work with VoodooHDA.kext 2.7.4.
Unfortunally, the sound have many pops, crackling and distorced sounds. :-(

Anyone have a new .kext or other simple solution for this audio card?

I'm using a 889 chip with voodoohda, same problem. Tried different versions but did not fix it. The audio was running fine on 10.7 but on ML it is not working.

Go to Other - Audio MIDI Setup and change Format to 44100.0 Hz. Or "Use SSE2" in VoodooHDA prefPane.

yes use SSE but also, try having a small video playing on repeat using e.g. vlc, it's an audio buffer thing, worst thing ever but.. hope you find a fix soon

ya, solved the problem but it would have been better if VOODOOHDA supported 5.1

nice congrats but with what way did you solve it..?

and if you get into it there are some configuration to support more than 2 channels, but better to have near native support using AppleHDA or a patched one..

I used multibeast to install voodoohda, applehda and patched hda, all of them worked. The only problem i had was that my chasis is old and the front audio connector was ac97 connector so my headphone did not work. Then i installed voodoo cuz i know that my headphones would work which i had experience of.

Is there any way to use ac97 headphone and apple hda?

And by the way, i solved the distortion and noise by using SSE option and disabling the front & rear mic.
