PREPARING
- The Existing Macosx Snow Leopard
- File Installer Mac OS X Lion.app from Apple Store
- Free HDD space partition format with GUID Partition table / Mac OS Extended ( Journaled ) 40 GB or more recomended
- Faster an USB Stick Drive with 8 GB or More Capacity also Formating with GUID Partition Table / Mac OS Extended ( Journaled )
- xMove and Multibeast from tonymac you can download from here
- Chameleon Bootloader
STEP - 1
* I assuming you already prepared Formating USB Stick Driver and Free Space HDD Partition for Lion, so I skipped this step
- Copy the Install Mac OS X Lion.app you just download from apple store to your desktop
- Right Click on it then click "Show Packaged Contents", open the contents, you will see folder name "SharedSupport"
- Open it then right click file name "InstallESD.dmg" open it with DiskImageMounter.
- InstallESD.dmg had been mounting now, you can see on your desktop, you can also just close the InstallESD
windows ( you can see this step at the image below )
STEP - 2
* Making a mirror/source USB Installer image in the desktop
- Open your DiskUtilty application, then click File Tab, new and choose "Blank Disk Image"
- You can Put the name whatever you want and customize the size 5 GB or more recomended. Make the name more easier to remember. Then Click "Create" wait till it's done ( see the image below )
- After it's done now you can see at DiskUtily the "Blank Disk Image" with name "LIONS_SOURCE" mounting already ( see image below with the red dot)
STEP - 3
* Use xMove to copying needed files from Original Installer Mac OS X Lion.app to USB Mirror Image you just created on your desktop
- Open xMove Application then change Destination, choose destination your USB Mirror image ( Blank Disk Image ) you just created before on your dekstop, click continue
- xMove Automaticly recognize the Original Install Macosx Lion app, wait xMove install finished ( If you have problem all icons in the desktop disappear after xMove done .. just forced quit your finder and relunch )
- After xMove done, you can open Blank USB Mirror Image ( I name it LIONS_SOURCE ) in your desktop not Blank anymore
- You can Unmounting or remove the original Intall Mac os X Lion.app now from DiskUtility
STEP -4
* Use MultiBeast to install Extra Folder and needed kexts to "USB Mirror image" ( LIONS_SOURCE ) in your desktop
- Open Multibeast application ( has annoying little bugs with this app, you can choose/checked random items then select / change the Destination to your USB Mirror ( LIONS_SOURCE ) then all check list are disappear you need checked the list all over again ) checks or customize items like picture below is recomended
- Do not Choose any bootloader yet
STEP - 5
* Restore LIONS_SOURCE image ( USB MIRROR Image in your desktop ) to the blank formating REAL USB STICK Drive device
- Open your DiskUtility, click on USB MIRROR Name LIONS_SOURCE then click "Restore" tab
- Make USB MIRROR name LIONS_SOURCE as "Source". Drag the formating REAL USB STICK Drive Device as "Destination" then click Restore.
- Wait till finish .. estimated time till finish depending of speed your USB Stick
STEP - 6
* The last Check and Install BootLoader
- Make sure you have an Extra folder and Extensions with kexts you were install with Multibest before inside your USB STICK INSTALER
- You can install the latest Chameleon Bootloader into your USB STICK LIONS INSTALLER device, dont forget to copy Extra Folder in your USB STICK 1st to your desktop for backed up if chameleon installer delete it, then put it back into USB STICK after chameleon install the bootloader finish
- You also can install the chameleon bootloader later if you have Existing Snow Leopard with the latest Chameleon installed already
- If having problem with boot .. try booting with kernel Flags "-v cpus=1"
