Hey fam! I spent a good several days trying to get my Gigabyte 560 Ti card to work, so I'll map out what I did for future users. Some words might be repeated in brackets to be made more searchable.
If you just need info on how to get the Gigabyte GTX 560 Ti video card working, skip to the bottom!!!
I'm also going to give an "Explained-like-your-five" rundown from start to finish for anybody that needs! I'm adding a guide because the installation was a bit particular, and the whole time I wished I had a guide like this to help me.
My specs:
Mobo: Gigabyte P67X-UD3-B3
Graphics: Gigabyte GTX 560 Ti (560Ti)
OSX: 10.7.2 (Lion)
Go into your system BIOS when the computer loads the boot screen by pressing DEL. Find your motherboard's firmware (for me it came with F2). Check the Tonymacx86 DSDT database for the F# that matches your firmware. If not, you'll have to update (I had to update to F7 because the DSDTs were from F3-F7).
You can update your BIOS by going to the Gigabyte website, selecting the motherboard, going to the downloads (BIOS) page, and downloading the latest supported firmware that corresponds to the DSDT (F7 worked for me once I updated).
Load the files onto a USB, CD or Floppy. Reboot, go into your BIOS page again (DEL), and at the bottom you'll see the option for Q-Flash around the bottom. Load the firmware, and DO NOT UNPLUG YOUR PC, PRAY TO GOD YOU DON'T HAVE A POWER OUTAGE, at this point if something goes wrong, you can risk losing your MOBO.
Once you have the proper firmware, you can continue with the iAtkos installer DVD/USB.
Install iAtkos by pressing F8 in the loader, and typing "npci=0x2000" (without quotes).
Installer loads successfully. Run Disk Utility at the top, selected my hard drive, erase the drive, give it a Partition (Mac OS X Extended Journal).
Once the process is finished, close the window, and resume with the installer.
When the installer is finished, it will reboot, and you will once again have to append "npci=0x2000" in the same way as before.
You should now have a loaded hackintosh.
NOTE: DO NOT SELECT EVERYTHING/THINGS YOU ARE UNSURE OF IN MULTIBEAST
Run Multibeast (current version 4.2.1) and ONLY IF YOU HAVE THE ABOVE MOBO, you can comfortably check off:
- UserDSDT Install (with the DSDT .aml file you downloaded onto your desktop)
- Load Drives and Bootloaders -> Kexts and Enablers -> Audio -> Realtek ALC8XX -> SELECT ONLY ALC8xxHDA, and AppleHDA Rollback
- Load Drives and Bootloaders -> Kexts and Enablers -> Network -> Realtek ALC8XX -> SELECT ONLY Lnx2Mac's Realtek81xx Ethernet
You can also feel free to check off KextUtility and ShowAllFiles (under OSx86 Software), as well as Customization > Themes > Chameleon RC5 Default.
If you're unsure or if something isn't working, do it step-by-step with reboots in between, but all these worked at once for me, and I would know, having done a clean install about 10 times.
Reboot, and you should now have working audio, ethernet, a new loader theme (optional), and you won't have to append npci=0x2000.
Gigabyte GTX 560 Ti OSx86 VIDEO CARD GUIDE
In order to install the video card, download GTX 560 TI for Lion 10.7 GM: http://www.osx86.net/view/1567-gtx_5...n_10.7_gm.html
In the zip is a kext file. You can use KextUtility to install it (Open with Applications > Utilities > Tools > KextUtility), or you can go to /System/Library/Extensions, find the NVDAGF100Hal.kext file, right click it, open contents, and replace the contents of the system kext with the contents of the newly downloaded kext.
Reboot to ensure everything went smoothly (it should). At this point, it should have booted into your native resolution or you should be able to change resolutions.
Once done, download and install CUDA: http://developer.download.nvidia.com...0.21_macos.dmg
Feel free to update to latest version, reboot to ensure it works (it should).
Then, once completed, install the GTX 5XX Enabler: http://www.osx86.net/view/2074-gtx_5xx_enabler.html
Reboot, ensure it's working, and you now have your Gigabyte 560 Ti with working QE/CI, OpenGL and OpenCL!
