evasi0n - iOS 6.0-6.1.2 Jailbreak

Compatible with all iPhone, iPod touch, iPad and iPad mini models running iOS 6.0 through 6.1

Requirements

  • 5 minutes of your time!
  • A computer, running Windows (XP minimum), Mac OS X (10.5 minimum) or Linux (x86 / x86_64)
  • An iPhone, iPad or iPod running iOS 6.0 through 6.1 (you may check in Settings / General / About => Version)
  • A USB cable to connect the device to the computer

Important! Read me!

  • Backup your device using iTunes (or iCloud) before using evasi0n. If something breaks, you'll always be able to recover your data.
  • Please disable the lock passcode of your iOS device before using evasi0n. It can cause issues.
  • Avoid all iOS and iTunes related tasks until evasi0n is complete. Why not just enjoy a brief break from the computer to stretch your legs?
  • If the process gets stuck somewhere, it's safe to restart the program, reboot the device (if necessary by holding down Power and Home until it shuts down), and rerun the process.

If anyone wants to preserve the baseband; Is it necessary to save SHSH blobs using TinyUmbrella or redSnow to preserve the baseband of an iPhone, before going into jailbreaking process using evasi0n?
I heard that evasi0n saves the SHSH Blobs automatically in a local server inside cydia, is that true?

I'm novice to these things & curious so i'll be glad to know that.

for starters if you are on 6.1.3, you can't jail break, to save shsh blobs you must use tiny umbrella, it's the easiest way!

to preserve baseband only on A4 CPUs and less, not on A5 CPUs and after

there is no way to downgrade an A5 and after CPU, only A4 and before

the jailbreak scene now waits for the next season when iOS 6.3 or maybe iOS 7 is released to "burn" new exploits.. enough (5+) exploits that came from iPhone 3GS times where burned with evasion

that's all!

p.s. if you are a novice don't be ashamed to ask and search the web, it's better to know what you are doing and expecting than to go bluntly bricking or upgrading to 6.1.3 by accident!

Thanks for your reply SomniusX.

I specifically want to know if i have an iPhone 4 that:
1.has an A4 chip,
2.not updated to 6.1.3
3.unlocked to a different carrier & to keep that unlock same
do i have to save shsh blobs using TinyUmbrella or redSnow or do i have to preserve bb before using evasi0n jailbreak specifically?

i heard some rumors that evasi0n does those things automatically so i dont have to save shsh blobs or preserve bb or whatever it is. is that true?

can you explain those things easily, so that at least i can understand before doing anything stupid?

what evasi0n does in specific is posted on their website!
tinyumbrella and redsn0w are know tools for proper baseband things, but on 6.x there are many ways to go up, so more way to screw up!
