  4. I edited the original 2.8.2 VoodooHDA ML (Mountain Lion) to work perfectly with Outputs/Inputs of VIA VT1708S integrated audio chipset.

    44KHZ to 192KHz

Full rear outputs and rear and front inputs, analog and digital, and names specified in 'Sound' control panel (native OS X control panel).

I don't use VoodooHDA prefpane, don't see the need to use it.

Asus P5Q Pro Turbo with Mountain Lion 10.8.3.

Tested analog outputs and inputs. Volume is working up an down in every output.

NOTE: Install it in /System/Library/Extensions, not in /Extra, and delete AppleHDA.kext and AudioAUUC.kext to avoid conflicts.

  14. AppleHDA for RealTek - ALC887-VD - AIO
This is my version of kext contains Varoius patches from various system Codec_dump ..
Supports OS X Updates Proof method by Piker Alpha, no need of clover patches for AppleHDA
Here how to : New Styel of AppleHDA Patching with OS X Updates Proof
different Layout_ID will provide you different OutPut and Input ( Choose which suites you best)
Each and Every Layout_ID = 1 to 9 is working very well for me
Add all versions for ALC887-VD in a single kext.( Great idea by Mirone )
Altogether there are Nine versions in a single kext, you can test each of these versions
by changing the number of his Layout_ID, which will 1/2/3/4/5/6/7/8/9.
Read the READ ME file attached along with the kext.
Use this flag is mandatory: kext-dev-mode=1.
    Install in S / L / E.
After installing repair permissions and rebuild caches use an application of your choice.
keep the feedback to kext enhancements.

The sound, headphones and microphone, fully working!!Tested on Mac OS X Yosemite.
Found on this site and on others kexts and patches not worked. The sound only worked after installing VoodooHDA,but not working microphone.
    What was done:
Did a dump from Linux, calculating Codec verb commands and PathMaps, patching XML(Platforms and layout) files and appleHDA Binary Patch.
    In the archive 3 files:
    1.AppleHDA.kext -driver.
2.EAPDFix.kext - fix, what would after sleep was sound.
3.HDEF Layout28 Patch -patch for DSDT.

    Installation:

    1.Delete or backup original AppleHDA.kext
    2.Run Kext Utillity(if no download here http://cvad-mac.narod.ru/index/0-4 )
3.Drag files AppleHDA.kext and EAPDFix.kext on window and wait… done!
4.Run your DSDT and apply HDEF Layout28 Patch.(If you don't know what DSDT and where to get it,then you should study the example here http://www.hackintoshosx.com/forum/54-dsdt/ ) sorry!
5.Add in Clover Configurator sections Devices-Audio-inject -28.See screenshot.(I think you know what Clover ,if you don't know, see http://www.hackintoshosx.com/topic/14668-guide-clover-efi-bootloader/)
    Warning!!!

If you've updated to Yosemite 10.10.2 and the sound does not work, replace AppleHDA.kext.

Good luck,I will be glad if you all work!!!

  25. ENGLISH
    =======
Dear, Hackintosh friends who have issues with the Realtek ALC888s sound controller:
You will be happy I’ve made a KEXT who works!
Please Install VoodooHDA-287.pkg (In the A folder) then replace VoodooHDA.kext by mine (VoodooHDA.kext is in the B folder).
If it’s not working, here is some instructions to pass this problem…
    There a in reality some ALC888s manufacturers…
    Take a live-cd (Like Ubuntu…) http://releases.ubuntu.com/14.04.1/ubuntu-14.04.1-desktop-amd64.iso
Boot Ubuntu, select « Try Ubuntu without installation » then, launch terminal.
    Type the following command:
    lspci -nn | grep Audio
Then, you must identify the motherboard audio device.
For example, my ALC888s sound card est is shown like this: Intel Corporation C600/X79 series chipset High Definition Audio Controller (rev 06) [8086:1d20]
Please note the eight hexadecimal characters on a paper, that’s the device ID…
Please reboot your hacintosh and type the following command (in the Mac OS’s Terminal):
    sudo nano /System/Library/Extensions/VoodooHDA.kext/Contents/Info.plist
    Look at the following lines:
    <key>IOClass</key>
    <string>VoodooHDADevice</string>
    <key>IOMatchCategory</key>
    <string>VoodooHDADevice</string>
    <key>IOPCIPrimaryMatch</key>
    <string>0x1d208086</string>
Under the IOPCIPrimaryMatch line , there is written 0x1d208086
Here is the tip, look at the eight hexadecimal figures you’ve seen in Ubuntu [8086:1d20] , the four hexadecimal figures goes behind the four next figures.
That means the figure order is now 1d208086 . Then, you must add 0x before that eight figures, here is the result: 0x1d208086
If your Audio ALC888s device ID is [abcd:1234] , here is you must type 0x1234abcd
You must replace this line by that you’ve found, between <string> and </string>
    Reboot and… enjoy
    MISTER THIBARD

    ===============
    sudo nano /System/Library/Extensions/VoodooHDA.kext/Contents/Info.plist
    Repérez les lignes suivantes:
    <key>IOClass</key>
    <string>VoodooHDADevice</string>
    <key>IOMatchCategory</key>
    <string>VoodooHDADevice</string>
    <key>IOPCIPrimaryMatch</key>
    <string>0x1d208086</string>
