I'm not getting the QE/CI, have the full resolution of my monitor though. I set GraphicsEnabler = Yes, installed NVEnabler 64.kext, in verbose mode it said loaded NVDANV50Hal but nothing changes.

Any idea what else I need to check/fix?

What's your Device ID?

Try to activate your card with another method.

olarila.com ? View topic - Basic guide about nVidia kexts, how to enable video drivers

Or an EFI string for the 9800GT:

GFX Strings - How To

Or try to replace NVDANV50Hal.kext from DP4. (Backup your old one first).

Thanks!

After did a test on a fresh ML installation on other partition, I realized I typo on my device id. Now I using the NVDANV50Hal.kext and NVDResman.kext from DP4 with device id injected, and I got the QE/CI working. But during boot up, I saw some text about NVEnabler probe fail, even though my graphics were smooth now.

Hi Rene, I've an MSI 9800GT 1GB that worked out of the box in SL and L, but now I can't even start the ML install process; I get a one second white screen and then the system reboots; tried to delete each and every NVIDIA kexts, tried the DP4 ones, tried NATIT and NVENABLER, tried every boot flag....nothing worked.

Any suggestions?

thanks in advance

This is about the post install. You are not there yet.

So, to install I used myHack and removed NVDANV50Hal.kext from install USB and was able to install.

This is what Conti (maker of myHack) says:

  • Symptom: The display goes blank or system reboots instantly after booting OS X or Installer
    Resolution 1: Boot with PciRoot=1
Resolution 2: Boot with GraphicsEnabler=No (Only use if resolution 1 fails, will not work on ML unless you have one of the graphics devices which will provide hardware acceleration without GraphicsEnabler, or you have removed system extensions in order to force VESA mode).
  • Note: ML will not boot without graphics support as there is no longer VESA support. You will have to either replace your graphics card or find a method to get it working if it is not supported by GraphicsEnabler
