I don't know what hacks you will need to do for the graphics card, but it should definitely be possible. If you can't do it, you will probably have to upgrade your cpu to... a core 2 quad (max your motherboard supports)

I think your graphics card might be supported out of the box. I have a MBP 7,1 and it has an nVidia GeForce 320m and I'm assuming they would use the same driver. You might have to upgrade the processor because Lion has certain requirements, I think it's at least a Core 2 Duo. But as with almost everything, there are ways around that. I think you should be able to make a nice system with that though. You might have trouble with audio, that's what I had the most difficulty with, it's all sorted now though.

Celeron processors are really iffy. I got Mac OS X 10.6.0 installed on a single core Celeron @ 2Ghz and it ran quite well. Every hardware component was natively supported except that crippled processor.

I recommend trying out 10.6.0 and see how that works OR upgrade that crappy CPU! Core 2 Duo is cheap and fast.
