    Default Given up

Okay everybody, this is basically my hate letter. I wanna start off by saying I'm done with this hackintosh bullshit. Im not normally known for one who gives up on something but this Osx86 project I've been working on is pointless. This is probably the stupidest thing I've ever done. Never did anyone tell me you practically needed the same hardware as a Mac machine. If you don't have 100 percent top of the line hardware, none of your components will work. Its completely pathetic. I have a 2010 acer aspire notebook, no kexts ever work.

So i'm telling everyone that this whole process is completely pointless. Bitch at me all you want. I worked on getting my wifi, sound, and graphics to function DAY AND NIGHT. ALL DAY ALL NIGHT countless hours and days sitting on this damn computer and nothing? This hackintosh thing is completely a waste of anyones time who doesn't have the latest and most common hardware. Just a for-warn to any newcomers.
I'm not blaming the community for my hardware problems, but I am blaming the community for the lack of communication. What I mean is, this OSx86 community provides hardly any help to anyone. How many time did I post questions on this forum and how many were answered? none. Useless site talking about useless things.

    Fuck hackintosh! Amen.

    Waste of time...

I don`t believe that what we are doing here is waste of time...

The first thing that you have to do before made a Hackintosh is at least made a little research about your hardware compatibility...

OS X was build to run on Apple Hardware and if at least Apple itself does`t used a specific hardware once, there`s no (easy) way to make that hardware work, only if a group of developers made a "team" to work on this project...

But, as anyone make money with this, and this is only for "fun" or "knowledge", this is hard to happen...

    The Developers...

They made tools that allows every person to run a almost perfect OS X installation on our machines, without the minimal knowledge to do this, even more easy than install Windows... The only thing that we have to do is a research to know our hardware compatibility...

And the most of users don`t even know who they are...

There`s nothing to do with "new" hardware to run OS X...

On older machines, like Pentium 4 and AGP Video Cards, you can install OS X Leopard without issues and even OS X Snow Leopard...

On machines a bit newer, like C2 Duo / Quad, you can run OS X Snow Leopard and OS X Lion...

    We help lot`s of people...

Here on my Country, for example, a basic MacPro with almost the same specs as mine, cost about R$ 8.300,00...

    On USA, about $ 2.500.00...

The most of people don`t have money to buy an original Mac, but, if they almost made a research, they can save about 60% to have a similar machine, and this can help him to get a cool job...

I don`t know who you are and where you are... But if you don`t need this, why you are trying???

And if you really need, why you give up???

Its not a matter of need at all. Yes, i did learn a lot from this experience as far as the install went. But mostly what I learned was that its virtually impossible to get any "uncommon" hardware to work. Yes, i understand that Apple computers are specifically made for their hardware. And that OSX is built based on every standard Macs hardware. I just think its mindblowing how complicated this process actually is.. atleast with my hardware. I've asked for countless help countless times and had no responses. Its angering and frustrating. As far as my purposes go, I want OSX. Just like everyone else, its a smooth operating system. Don't get me wrong, i give credit to the developers but to me, without any help, this process is completely pointless and a waste of time.

I understand you but I don`t agree with you...

On the most of communities, and even here, I see lot`s of people asking for help and don`t getting even a point of light...

If I could, I would help everyone... But I have my own life...

We have tons of guides and how`s to for a large variety of themes...

See... About 20 years ago when I see a "UNIX Like" Operational System for the first time, I think "WTH! why I need to learn so hard thing!!!"....

To use a simple 3 1⁄2-inch Floppy, we had to write almost a Bible! To use a simple mouse on a GUI ambient, we had to write another Bible...

80% of system settings had to be made by Terminal or by editing configuration files...

Presently, it`s almost everything "Plug`n Play"!!! But you need to keep in mind that we are talking about two different worlds...

The first Intel Mac only appeared in 2006, we have only 6 years of Hackintosh life... And a independent life... Without support, without money...

The Developers still working to make our lives more easy... But in some cases... Talking about hardware...

    It`s a dead end...

    Default Hackys can be tough

you know my first two hackys went like silk they were amd asus a8nsli and they ran tiger great.. Couldn't figure out what all the fuss everyone was crying about...

second hackie Everyone told me could not be done and it took me 6 months nobody had done it but I finally got it running right with tiger then Leopard came in and I bought a ep35 ds3l and went intel had a lot of help especially weaksauce 12 and got that running very smooth except sound broke with every update
jumped to a ep45 ds3l because everyone said it was better bought a used board and it blew up 6 months ago

now I made the jump to a new board a ga xp68 ud 3 a I 7 chip and the card from hell a gts 450 fermi that works great in lion finally but not in snow leopard. this card was said to be the right card on several boards but it has issues... finally I'm sending it back to new egg and getting something else. I lost a weekend because of that card and a few days since... but the old 9800 works great.

between all these builds I've helped 20 or so guys build machines and make them stable.

point is this most of us log in once a week if lucky and we all have lifes..

    myhaacky now

GA 68xp ud 3 r, 2600K cpu, 9800 gt graphic card, cpu cooler H80 ( the H70 does not work on this board) 16 gigs of ram , yada , yada.... lots of stuff hooked up if your interested

tell us what you have every peice of hardware what the os is and what methods you have tried

but please read the wiki first a ton of questions have been answered there just follow the instructions....
don't be the first to update wait and let others leap first

get your system running right and clone it

most of all have fun.....life's too short

I'm asking no one to agree with me here. I understand everyone has their own lives to follow and not everyone can be attended to. I was just stating my opinion. Maybe I under estimated this whole process. As you said, yes hardware is a dead end in most cases. Im not familiar with modifying kexts and what not but I think I've been wasting enough time on this project because I can literally get no where with my hardware configuration.

The bottom line is, if you're the average folk running an average notebook, this process will not be accomplished at all. Thats just a fact.

My first hack took ages!!! only because i knew nothing. i couldnt have told you what guid partition was then! Ive learnt more than My expectations and double. So much so that I now study computer mechanics, programming methodology and algorithms!
I Tell you buddy I spent the best part of a year doing my first one and understanding kext, boot loaders the lot.
All I can say is you must not want to learn and are not that keen to win!!! good with your next project!

I totally agree with you theconsumer, all you said is true and right, that's the nature of this site,i am also about to give up if no one help me with the thread i opened with the following content:
Hello,i have been on much effort to install mac os on my pc notebook pc,but whenever i'm in the process,it gives me problem{DON'T MIND MY ENGLISH PLEASE},here is what i did:
-I used the bootloader method of installation, booted from the dvd and the bootloader screen appeared(the bootloader is iboot v3),and i ejected the iboot dvd and inserted the SL dvd and selected it to boot together with some bootflags like -v.-x.-f,cpus=1 etc,and it started viewing the long white text, but it always stops at a point with:SYSTEM UPTIME IN 286666878 nanoseconds and will never pass that.....LONG STORY SHORT,is it that i didn't use the boot flags right or i need to add something, need your help please!
IF NO ONE HELPS ME THEN I AM GOING TO GIVE UP AND I WILL DEFINITELY KNOW THAT NO ONE HELPS ANYONE IN THIS SITE!!
