Default iatkos 7 installation successful, I can't get audio to work :( help!

    Hi guys,

I managed to install iatkos 7 on my i5 setup, and it works perfectly even software updates work fine.. but the problem I am having is with audio, I've tried a few different kexts : Azaila Audio, Voodoo HDA.. doesn't work I have ALC 889.. to install i used kext helper.. I've also noticed that the System/ Library/ Extensions folder has more then one audio kext.. do I have to remove the older ones?

    Hope someone can help..

    Thanks!

no only if you use for instance 2 voodoo kext.
I see u used the voodoo HDA but did you use it together with HDAenabler?
because i think you need both.
    Did you tried AppleHDA kext??
or maybe this is something you can try http://www.infinitemac.com/f36/10-5-8-is-out-t3554/

I got it working :] Thanks!

The other problem I have is that I have to type -b busratio=20 cpus=1 to boot into leopard.. is there a way I can do it without typing that.. If i don't type it on the chameleon start up it reboots..

Yes, edit your com.apple.boot.plist (in /Extra most probably) and change to this:

    Code:
    	<key>Kernel Flags</key>
    	<string>-v busratio=20 cpus=1</string>

Use DSDT patch, because now you're working with 1 cpu core.
So look at this to make DSDT patch to get all cores woking and withouth cpus=1

Off course here stands 16 threats this is off course depending of your cpu. If you have a dual core then there are just 4 ALIASes that you have to remove.
