Default TechToolsPro - version 5.0.6 (Build 4594) System Validation.

    System Validation???

I am wondering as to why techToolsPro validates my H'intosh incorrectly.

The two files attached show the About This Mac Profiler while thye techTools Pro shows something different.

Any boffins out there have any idea as to why they should be different, I am never sure what is considered cosmetic and what is correct.

Interesting to to know whether any other TechToolsPro users experience the same anomalies.

How did you get the about this mac info?
By injecting the proper CPU value using proper kext or by applying a package that modify the about this mac info?

As per my understanding the latest is only cosmetic while the first should make the info available for every application.

    just my 0.2c..

Hi thanks, first method was used, or at least Netkas 10.5 boot which supposedly recognises the CPU automaticaly, without kext. It appears to work as I was able to download Microsoft Silverlight.

However the IOreg details show the processor as a Penryn which i think it is, not a Xeon.

I thought the same as you however it does not appear to be the case. I have always found tech Tools Pro very useful and accurate.

Methinks somebody is looking at it.

    Take care.
