    Default Help please :)

Hi im Chris and im new here, i found this site through a youtube video description and it seems like the best place to get the answers i need for my hackingtosh problems. so here goes...

the spec of the laptop im trying to install OSX on is as follows, this info is all what everest gave me so if theres something missing i'll try my best to find out.

    Motherboard:
CPU Type Mobile Intel Pentium M, 1733 MHz
    Motherboard Name Gericom Inc
    Motherboard Chipset Unknown
    System Memory 1024 MB
    BIOS Type Phoenix (02/16/05)

    Display:
Video Adapter Standard VGA Graphics Adapter (128 MB)

    Multimedia:
Audio Adapter High Definition Audio Controller [NoDB]

    Storage:
IDE Controller Intel(R) 82801FB/FBM Ultra ATA Storage Controllers - 266F
Disk Drive ST9100823A ATA Device (100 GB, 5400 RPM, Ultra-ATA/100)
Disk Drive SigmaTel MSCN USB Device
    Optical Drive MATSHITA DVD-RAM UJ-845S ATA Device (DVD+R9:2.4x, DVD+RW:8x/4x, DVD-RW:8x/4x, DVD-RAM:5x, DVD-ROM:12x, CD:24x/10x/24x DVD+RW/DVD-RW/DVD-RAM)

i have been trying the hazard version of OSX and i get a successful install every time but it just wont boot. is this because i haven't selected the right options in customise? based on my specs could someone please suggest what options i select, and if i need to add some different ones that aren't included can someone explain how i add them to the image? any help is greatly appreciated!

    thanks
    Chris

first things first you need a laptop intel processer with 2 cores 2.20ghz or above .next your graphics isnt supported u need gma950 or gma3100 or nvida gpu.need more details for sound chip.the biggest problem is your ide snow leopard doesnt support ide. you might be able to install with legacy kerel. after install your dvd rom will not work. i wouldnt bother trying to install snow leopard on that laptop.i hope this helps

so even though i get a successful install the reason i cant boot is because the hardware ain't gonna be compatible? if thats the case i will just have to leave that there i guess. i wouldn't mind some help with another machine im trying to install OSX86 on. its a desktop as apposed to a laptop.

    Intel Pentium 4 2.66GHz
    2GB ram
    gigabyte GA-8IPE1000 pro (Rev 2)
Graphics are ATI something? but i also have a nVIDIA MX440 8X 64MB TV graphics card.
the hard drive is a laptop one, i have an adapter to accommodate it thats SATA, so i can only assume the HD is SATA

with this machine i get a good install and then when i boot i get "still waiting for root device" so im obviously missing something. which version of OSX would best suit this setup? and then which flavour and which things should i select in customize? any help is greatly appreciated!

    Thanks
    Chris
