    BuildBot is down...

You have to wait a few days before try again...

in this main time, you can download the Latest Version of Chameleon Wizard that already have a BuiltIn Chameleon with the latest release....

You're correct, it was down and finally today I've managed to find it online and downloaded Chameleon 2.1 svn r1822 and applied it to Lion install USB HDD, and the install finally managed to go further, the patience has paid

But now I have to take care of "customize" menu, I've gotta customize the install acoording to the Lenovo N500. There's a work to do. I'll be back, thanks!

I have a Dell 1564 and i have been looking online and playing in multibeast to try and get my hackintosh to boot from the hard drive and i can not get the write things together for that to happen. So i was wondering if anyone has a 1564 that wouldnt mind letting me know how to set up the boot.plist so i can stop using the disk. Thanks!

Is the hard drive printed in bold

the hard drive into which the Lion is to be installed, or

the hard drive on which the Lion Install resides?

If it's the second case, then you will need the Chameleon Bootloader's latest version and apply it to the Lion Install hard drive; you should have a spare Mac for this.

That has worked for me, so should it for you.

    Had a working system.

    disk 0, slice 1 (256GB) 10.6.2
disk 0, slice 2 (743GB) filesystem with all kinds of stuff. Not bootable

    disk 1, slice 1 (261GB) 10.6.8
    disk 1, slice 2 (726GB) 10.7.2
disk 1, slice 3 (11GB) Mac OS X Base system used to install Lion 10.7.2

(please note the slices are of different sizes. However there was more than plenty free space)

Bios starts up from disk 0 by default.

I decided to sacrifice disk 0, slice 1, and place a backup 10.7.2 on it. This should make further "fiddling" with my current 10.7.2 doable without fearing a unworking system.

Used disk utility to restore 10.7.2 to 10.6.2 volume.

Now I do *not* get a boot menu from which to select (Snow or Lion). Snow starts. And panics.

In the bios I make disk 1 my boot disk. Now I can boot successfully from all three (disk0, slice 1; disk 1 slice 1 and also slice 2)

Guess my volumes are all ok, however not sure about how to reinstall chameleon bootloader so I can boot fom disk 0 *and* select any of the possibilities given.
what would be the safest way to make disk 0 bootable?

Use Chameleon Wizard, go to "Installation" tab, choose "BuiltIn" and "Boot0hfs", select your target disk in the drop down menu and click Install...

I believe that this procedure will fix you "disk0" boot, but remember, if you don`t have a valid /Extra folder on the same disk where you have Chameleon installed with needed boot files, you will not be able to boot OS X...

I am very careful here. Do not want an unbootable system... Following your instructions with Chameleon Wizard 4.1.0 I not see a drop down menu after selecting Boot0hfs. There is only an "Install" button on the bottom of the window. Fear this means "do this install"
Do not seem to be able to find a tutorial or description document on Chameleon Wizard. If it exists I would appreciate a pointer.

I see this misunderstanding. Assumed this drop down menu related to the last selectable element "Update".
Did what you prescribed. Still the same issue.

I think my boot sector of disk0 is "crap". If I boot from disk 1 all my Mac OS-X volumes I can boot from. If I boot from disk 0 I get garbage.

If I understand Chameleon Wizard correctly the target partition that can be selected is just any of the Mac Volumes. Believe I need to update my primary boot block on disk 0 in order to correctly handle what is on all the slices (Mac Volumes).

Or is this Wizard smarter, and will it do the primary boot sector of the disk on which the selected partition resides?

    Try using the option "Boot0md"...
