Hello!
Sometimes we need a file that is inside of a Package, or a kext that is in the installation DVD or are just curious and want to know the contents of the Packages ...
So what to do? Install everything again? Search over the net looking for something that we already have?
With Pacifist we will solve all these problems!
Pacifist is very practical and intuitive ...
As you can see in the picture above, we can open Packages, URL `s and Installation Discs ...
The procedure is the same for all options...
After you click Open and navigate to the Package file, it will present us a window like
that ...
After browsing through the Package and find what we want, select the file and
click Extract, then he will present us a window like the one below to set the place
where extract the file ...
Then just select the destination and click Choose, after that it will ask for confirmation ...
And then the password ...
In the example, I used a Chameleon Package, there is no need to reinstall it at each version, we can
just replace the file "boot" on root of the OS X partition ...
Also you could have opened an installation DVD to get the original kexts after modify one or two kexts on the disc ...
Unfortunately it is not free, but returns every penny paid ...
