Default [GUIDE]How Create a RETAIL Lion Media Installer

This Guide is Only for Intel Processors (Core2, Core i3 / i5 / i7), theres no Patched Kernel for AMD or others Unsupported Processors.

UPDATE: New Patched Kernel for 64bit Atom Processors. (32bit will not work)

SOURCE: Thanks to Nawcom > I made me a nice Lion Atom Kernel — nawcom's bitchblog

UPDATE: New Patched Kernel for HP Notebook DV Series with Core i3/i5/i7 Processors

SOURCE: Thanks to Taptun / Mammoth > IPS Driver Error

    Hy Guys!!!

    Who wants a Lion??

I think many people here on the Forum want...

So ... Let's see what we need to tame it ...

First, download the installer from the App Store ...

Second, be ready in a USB Stick with at least 8GB or a free hard disk partition ...

You can also download this program and enable the display of hidden files > Download UnHidden for Mac - Show or hide hidden files. MacUpdate.com

After the download completes, click the right mouse button on the installer
and select "Show Package Contents" ...

Go to "Contents> SharedSupport" folder and mount "InstallESD.dmg" ...

You will see a volume that will appear called "Mac OS X Install ESD", inside the volume, you
will find another image called "BaseSystem.dmg" ... Mount it ...

After mounting it, we need to use "Disk Utility" to restore "Mac OS X Base System"
to the stick / disk partition ...

Open Disk Utility, select the volume "Mac OS X Base System", click "Restore", drag the
Volume icon where you will restore the image to the field "Destination" and click "Restore" ...

After the process is complete, eject only the image "Mac OS X Base System" from the installer ...
(After you restore the image, you will have two volumes called "Mac OS X Base System")

Open the volume "Mac OS X Base System" that you just restored ...

Copy the file "mach_kernel" at the root of the image "Mac OS X Install ESD" to the root of the volume
"Mac OS X Base System" ...

UPDATE: New patched kernel for 64bit Atom Processors (32bit will not work), download from here, extract at the root of your "Mac OS X Base System" media and rename it to mach_kernel (After the installation you will need to use the same kernel to start the system)... > http://nawcom.com/mach_kernel_atom.10.7.1.bz2

UPDATE: New patched kernel for HP Notebooks DV Series with i3/i5/i7 Processors, download from here, extract at the root of your "Mac OS X Base System" media(After the installation you will need to use the same kernel to start the system)... > OS X Lion kernel (lapic_native) - Downloads - OSx86.net

For people that will made a Bootable stick, we need to place NullCPUPowerManagement.kext and FakeSMC.kext inside of /System/Library/Extensions of "Mac OS X Base System"...

After copying the file, navigate to the folder "System / Installation" ...

Delete the folder (symlink) "Packages" from it and copy the folder "Packages" of the image "Install ESD Mac OS X" on the folder ...

If you need to install on a disk with MBR partition scheme or can`t complete the installation because of error
"Mac OS X Could Not Be Installed on this Machine" use the following procedure ...

Download this Modified "OSInstall.mpkg" for 10.7 installer > MBR patched OSInstall framework & mpkg for Lion GM - Downloads - Kexts.com

Run the command below on a terminal window...

    Code:
    sudo tar xjvf /PATH TO THE FILE/Lion_OSInstall_GM.tar.bz2 -C /Volumes/Mac OS X BaseSystem/
Or download this Modified "OSInstall.mpkg" for 10.7.2 installer > http://www.osx86.net/view/1986-patch...installer.html

Run the command below on a terminal window...

    Code:
    sudo tar xjvf /PATH TO THE FILE/OSInstall_Framework.10.7.2.tar.bz2 -C /Volumes/Mac \OS \X \BaseSystem/
Replace PATH TO THE FILE with the path for the patched OSInstall.mpkg.

Okay, after that your image is ready ...

If you restored the image to a disk partition, you can use your already installed Chameleon
(if it is compatible) to start the installation ...

If restored to a USB Stick, install Chameleon directly in the stick using the installer
you want or Chameleon Wizard > Chameleon Wizard - Downloads - Kexts.com

Hopefully now you can tame the lion!

NOTE: If you have PS2 devices and have issues during the install, access the file below from Snow Leopard, Linux or Windows
    using Transmac or MacDrive...

    Code:
    /System/Library/CoreServices/Setup Assistant.app/Contents/Info.plist
    And delete the lines below...

    Code:
    <string>DeviceSection</string>
    <string>KeyboardTypeSection</string>
Thanks to thales_ from Olarila Forum for this tip > Original Post (Brazilian Portuguese) olarila.com • Exibir tópico - Iniciando o Lion sem teclado USB

    POST INSTALL

After you install the system, if you don`t have Chameleon with Lion Support Already installed,
you need to made the steps below...

NOTE: If you already have Snow Leopard installed, you can made all the steps
from him using this app and selecting the Lion disk as target > Kext Wizard 3.7.10 - Downloads - Kexts.com

Boot the already installed Lion with this BootCD > Boot CD for Lion - Downloads - OSx86.net

    Install this Chameleon > Chameleon 2.1svn r1447 - Downloads - OSx86.net

    Install the kexts below...

Use this app to install kexts, repair permissions and rebuild caches > Kext Wizard 3.7.10 - Downloads - Kexts.com

    FakeSMC.kext > Fakesmc version 2.5 - Downloads - Kexts.com

    NullCPUPowerManagement.kext > NullCPUPowerManagement (32-/64-bit) - Downloads - Kexts.com

The kexts above are essential to boot the system, but you also will need kexts for your specific devices (Lan, Wi-Fi, Audio, Video, PS2, etc..)

You can use this app to know your devices and find the right kexts > System Info - Downloads - Kexts.com

In the most of cases, kexts that you already use on Snow Leopard are compatible with Lion, you have to try.

Now, you should be able to boot the system from the HD...

Try copying the "mach_kernel" again and also "kernelcache"...

And remember, there`s no Lion yet for AMD Systems...

Is hidden at the root of the "InstallESD.dmg"...

Copy "mach_kernel" and "kernelcache" to the root of your restored "Mac OS X Base System"....

You need the Lion kernel (version 11.0.0)...

You can try using this BootCD to start the install > http://www.kexts.com/view/1462-boot_cd_for_lion.html

Boot with the BootCD and install this on /S/L/E > NullCPUPowerManagement (32-/64-bit) - Downloads - Kexts.com

    And this > Fakesmc version 2.5 - Downloads - Kexts.com

Also, install this Chameleon > http://www.kexts.com/view/1692-chame...svn_r1406.html

Reboot, and if you can boot from the HD download this app and select "GraphicsEnabler" > Chameleon Wizard - Downloads - Kexts.com
