Cannot login to iCloud

Hey guys!

The other day i signed out of iCloud because i tried to register my iBook via MobileMe. That failed, and on top of that i cant sign back into iCloud. I keep getting the error: Apple ID is valid but not an iCloud account.

In fact, no matter what i put in the Apple ID and Password boxes, i get the same error.

Heres a quick set of questions im going to answer so you dont have to ask them:

Is ethernet en0?
Yes

Have you made sure your chimera or Chameleon bootloaders are the latest ver.?
Yes, the chimera bootloader i have is the latest.

Have you tried deleting all network services, including Network Interfaces and network identification .plist files?
Yes

What is your hackintosh listed as?
MacBook5,1

Is the serial you used of a mac thats on the apple database?
Yes, its of my old MacBook1,1

Any other notes?:
I know this worked before with my current settings so i am unsure of why i cant sign in any longer. I can sign in on the iCloud website, as well as on my iMac which is running Mac OS Lion 10.7.2

Note: I had to select Mac OS X Version as 10.6.2 as its the highest option available. I am actually running 10.7.2

Any help is most appreciated and will be paid for as soon as the problem is resolved.

I already told to you that you need to revalidate your AppleID e-mail adress....

Apple ID is valid but not an iCloud account

The error self explain the situation... If you can use AppStore and use a Chameleon release 1650 or above, just revalidate your e-mail adress...

This may not work ... but this will ...

sudo rm /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/NetworkInterfaces.plist

Reboot.

Now lets see ... !

This worked for me... But... Who knows....

Re-validation DOES NOT work.

I said this in my other post too, hence why im here asking for premium support. I've tried alot of stuff today, doesnt work.

I know my account itself is fine because on my iMac, i can login to iCloud perfectly fine.

Edit: Also, removing the NetworkInterfaces.plist doesnt work either.

It's not your account! If what i've said doesn't work, you might need to reinstall the system as the last resort. Then it will work.

Some similar issue was also present when the App Store was first launched, with Mac OS X 10.6.6 update. It doesn't affect only the Hackintosh, but real Macs too.

Try it and report.

Im a bit ahead of you on this, i made a backup as soon as i updated to 10.7.2, and i just loaded it up from my USB and it (iCloud) didnt work! What the hell?! Exact same error.

Only differences between backup and current install:

Backup has none of my currently installed programs/etc...
SMBios is the default still (MacBookPro4,1)
No custom kexts for ethernet, WWAN, etc....

I noticed some people on the Apple forums who had macs with dead ethernet ports had the exact same symptoms as me. Could this be an ethernet issue? I have the EthernetBuiltIn=Yes boot flag as well as a Intel8655MM kext so i can use ethernet.

Okay, since you are ahead of me on this, then STOP follow what i've said and i'll STOP here. Good luck! (but i'll suggest, next time listen to people that want to help you).

Just in an ending note: restoring or booting the same installed OS from a backup (which has the same files as the one you are trying to make it work) is not the same as reinstalling the system from scratch.

Ah, what i meant by backup was; The day i updated to 10.7.2 and had iCloud WORKING i made a backup. I just tried to load it up and iCloud didnt work there either, which i think is rather odd. I prefer not re-installing but i have a spare hard disk so theres no reason for me not to try.... Will report back soon

Before you do that, (not a bad idea at all), try what i've said. Or you'll need more informations? (you didn't understand what i've said)

Edit: i saw that you've already tried it. (deleting the file)

Where did you you get that kext? (exactly) If the ethernet is working fine, then it should not be a problem.
