Need fix for sound on GA-P55A-UD4p-F8
    Description
    Hello:

I'm using a GA-P55A-UD4P with 10.6.3 install and stable except for the audio. I've use everything here and nothing is working when I use Mulitbeast and select voodooHDA.kext I get my input for Microphone/line IN, External Microphone and SPDIf In . on output I only get Digital out for everything and no sound is coming out.

The sound chip is Realtek ALC889 codec everything else is working just fine but in Sleep mode it does reboot on wakeup I'm willing to pay for a fix to this problem

The only fix right now is to use the appleHDA kext from 10.6.2. Apple removed support for quite a few of the 88x audio codecs in 10.6.3.

Use this DSDT edit: RAW OUTPUT jCpePa4e and this apple HDA kext: http://www.kexts.com/view/338-p55-ud4p_10.6.3_fix.html

You first need to generate a dsdt.dsl file (with dsdt generator) and then you can edit it with BBEdit (or similar, a good text editor) and then recompile it with iasl to a dsdt.aml file which can then be used on the root partition / or in /Extra for chameleon to load.

But i already sent you an email with both options ne0shell is telling about (and the dsdt.aml file is already edited for you mobo (bios ver f8) with audio fix. Just follow the steps and tell if it worked.

And for ne0shell, in the future you give somebody something to follow be kind and explain it how to do it. Here is not like "real" forum where you can assume the guy you talking about already knows steps and you can just jump direct to the point.

Try the kext without the DSDT edit first. Copy the same kext from ?system/library/Extensions to a safe place and then replace the original with this one. Run kext helper or do a repair permissions on your boot drive and restart.

    1. - ne0shell, not a nice move and from "here" you can continue and help the guy
    2. - roland4001, if you need help, then be prepared to receive it, and give feedback also on the progress
    3. - is the problem solved or...?

p..s. - if it seemed that i was interfering on imick's talk, you already said that his suggestion didn't worked
