    Default Partition format?

After playing around with two different HD's I've found that my 10.6.6 on MBR is very stable and does not crash. the only thing is I have to boot with efi disc every time, no biggy!

however my other HD is GUID and not so stable at all, i cant leave it for more than 30 mins and i have to reboot because it froze. 10.6.3 and 10.6.6 no good.
anyone know why? I am 5 months new to the game so any input would be great.

Im also at the last stage of lion install/reboot to finish and the lion installed partition is
not showing up. I have posted on a few threads but I am stuck! and at my wits end.
    any help much appreciated!! cheers

    Default

A WILD GUESS #1 IS ENERGY SAVER "PUT THE HARD DISKS TO SLEEP WHEN POSSIBLE" CHECK
    AND COMPUTER SLEEP.
GUESS #2 THE DISK IS CORRUPT, THIS CAN BE FIXED BY FSCK
    1. START SYSTEM IN SINGLE USER MODE, AT BOOT PROMPT TYPE -S
    2. THE SYSTEM SHOULD BOOT TO PROMPT IN SINGLE USER TYPE /sbin/fsck -fy (this could process for 10 mins with list etc)
    3. AGAIN AT THE PROMPT TYPE /sbin/mount -uw / (this will mount the volume , you may have volume name)
    4. NOW TYPE exit or ctrl/d to exit single user and start system.
    5. WHEN SYSTEM IS FULLY BOOTED SHUTDOWN TO SAVE THE CLEANED FILE SYSTEM.
THIS IS ALMOST LIKE THE WIN OR DOS CHKDSK /F.
THIS IS A VERY OLD PROBLEM I FOUND WITH ALL UNIX - LIKE SYSTEMS.
