    Default Hackintosh 10.6.8 only reading 1GB of Ram

    I installed Mac OS X Snow Leopard via Empire Efi and Retail DVD. It only reads 1gb of my 8.
    If anyone can help please do.


    Dell Inspiron M5030
    AMD Athlon II P360 Dual-Core Processor
    Atheros AR9285 802.11b/g/n WiFi Adapter
    8GB DDR3 Ram
    Operating Systems: Windows 7, Ubuntu 11.10, Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.8

    I have the EXACT same problem, but unfortunately it looks as if you have not received any help on the matter. Could anyone offer insight?
    Platform: DELL INSPIRON M5030
    OS: MAC OS X SNOW LEOPARD 10.6.3
    Additional OS: UBUNTU 11.04

    using OSX86Tools from PcWiz u can customize the "About this Mac" window!

    Empire Efi? Then look in "com.apple.Boot.plist" if you can find

    maxmem=1024

    If so remove it or change the value to 4096 (=4GB)

    1024 is used for more compatibility to boot.
