I have tried a few distros including iAtkos s3 v2, iDeneb 3, and Hazard 10_6_6i (which I'm currently using). My system specs are AMD Turion x64, 4GB RAM.
I am currently booting from PC EFI 10.6, but was using the default kernel from the Hazard distro. About This Mac shows the CPU as a Intel Core 2 Duo after I modified the smbios.plist. Without smbios.plist, it was showing as a Core Duo.
I just can't make x64 software run on any distro or kernel. Everthing I've tried in OSX says the cpu doesn't support it.
sysctl hw | grep 64bit reads:
-hw.cpu64bit_capable: 0
If it makes any difference, I have to boot on any distro with kernel flags: cpus=1 busratio=20
The real cpu is 64-bit, and I know Core 2 Duos are 64-bit.
Is there anything I can do? I really want to use After Effects on this thing.
Thanks ahead for any help.
