Default GA-EP45-DS3R owners: "No keyboard present"-errors on boot?

My new desktop machine based on a GA-EP45-DS3R is now up and running, BIOS is the latest F11e.

One strange thing I still couldn't resolve: On power-on or reboot, I frequently get a system halt due to an unrecognized USB keyboard ("Keyboard error - no keyboard present" or something similar). This does not always happen, perhaps on every fifth or tenth (re)boot, but still too often to file it somewhere under "maybe a buggy keyboard".

Question: Did anybody with a GA-EP45-DS3R experience similar problems? - Thanks for every hint!

Do any other USB devices not remount on wake-up?

And what keyboard are you using ?

2 times I have some Trouble with my logitech mouse.
normaly some menus and dock ealize it the mouse cursor is above them.
in this case e.g. dock gets the magnifier effect.
this mouseover stuff somtimes stpos working and i have to unplug/replug the mouse΄s usb reciver or to restart to get it working again.

Think this issue is caused by the Logitech driver, it΄s still x32 and just for Leopard

richiem: It's difficult to tell if other USB devices remain unconnected on power-on or reboot as well, because I am unable to get past the Chameleon screen without the keyboard. I assume it's only the keyboard, because otherwise my Chameleon USB stick would probably not be present, either, which it is.

CEOS: It's a Cherry G80-3000. A really expensive USB keyboard with a nice click pressure point.

Not a good assumption, since BIOAS settings load your Chameleon stick. I would try subbing another keyboard to see if that's the problem.

Okay, I'll try that ASAP (= when I get hold of another keyboard).

Err ... I don't find that in my BIOS (F11e). I would expect to find it under "Integrated Peripherals", but it's simply not there, just a few USB-related entries, which are all enabled (USB Controller, USB 2.0 Controller, USB Keyboard support, USB Mouse Support, Legacy USB storage detect).

    Hey guys,

I have an GA-EP45DS3L and also an Cherry keyboard and I have the same trouble... every three or four times the keyboard is not detected at boot.

The questions is now is it the keyboard or the mainboard ?
I ll get another keyboard the next days and let you know if it goes better then...

I had the same issue and now the issue is gone. I forget what setting I altered to fix that bug. Try fiddling with the USB settings in the BIOS. It is def not your keyboard, it's a mobo issue.
