Thread: Atheros ar5b97 [a.k.a. ar9287] Don't work in Lion 10.7

Hello ,

I have installed osXlion 10.7 on my packard bell laptop lx86-jp-033BE
specs:

• Ram = 8GB
• Graph = ATI Mobility RADEON HD 5850 Graphics 2GB
• WLAN & Ethernet Atheros

so i have 2 (3 lion by iatkos L2) problems :

i have installed lion 10.7 MG By Mike
What is working:

• Sound
• Graphics but no java or flash
• lan

What is not working:

• Wifi
• batery status
• usb shome times
• dvd drive can read only mac dvd's

so my question is how cane i get my wifi working
and java and flach player
i have downloaded Fach player
but it not working on youtube , ...
i see a white box and i hear sound but no video

cane any one help me

ow and another problem is
if i install iatkos L2 it island good but after restart i see multiply screen on my screen ?????

my acer 8943G don't work too.

I'ved installed an external USB D-Link DWA-125 and it works great except on the AppStore.

Atheros AR5b97 works excellent with OS X 10.7.xx or 10.8 - as long as you have the right kext.

Try this: AtherosAR5B97pack - Downloads - OSx86.net

replace or add these kext as needed. this will enable wifi (but prob not lan)

Thx Taumaz! It works great now! I had to delete the prefs but now I can connect to the app store.

could you please help me where to install the atherosAR5B97PACK in lion? is it the extra or the system/library/extension folder the correct one?

its the s/l/e folder but use kext beast to install (google: kext beast) its an app that will install into the correct place for you.
