    Default bcm4315 and snow leopard

    Hi all folks,

I installed snow leopard from cd. I'm at 10.6.0 release. All is working except my airport.

I've bought a dell card with bcm4315 chipset.

The card is recognized, I can turn it on and off. but it does not scan for networks nor connecting to them.

The tasty parts of my logs are:

    Feb 5 04:51:38 localhost kernel[0]: wl0: Broadcom BCM4315 802.11 Wireless Controller
    Feb 5 04:51:38 localhost kernel[0]: 5.10.91.19

    and

    Feb 5 04:51:38 localhost kernel[0]: Assertion failed: file "/SourceCache/AirPortDriverBrcm4311/AirPortDriverBrcm4311-410.91.20/src/wl/sys/wlc_bmac.c", line 2264: !wlc_hw->sbclk || !si_taclear(wlc_hw->sih, TRUE)

    sounds like a firmware issue?

Does anyone have a glue? I also tried the BCM drivers available from download section but no luck. Anyway, the device is correctly shown so I don't think it's a driver problem. Thank you all

Try with 32bit kernel using the flag arch=i386 at boot...

I'm gonna try this hack but my bcm4315 is not with builtin bluetooth module. I think it won't work.

The strange is that all seems working perfectly, also the wifi led. but is not possible to catch any network.

I tried to modify the plist into the ktext folder, by adding my device to the list. now the error disappeared, but same result.

this is a really weird stuff anyway.

I have a bcm4311 card installed on a hackintosh's second pci slot. I have tried a lot of threads and I cannot make it work. when I have installed Broadcom43XXFamily.kext (with IONetworkingFamily.kext) and boot with -v I see that the wifi gets an address but then it stacks at light blue screen. The strange thing is that when I reinstall snow leopard with this kext I could hear the snow leopard's first time boot video but I can only see a light blue screen. Without this kext ny card is not seen by s/l.
    Can anyone help me?

hello, i have a similar problem with a bcm4311 card installed in a 2008 unibody mbp. works perfectly with 10.5.6 and the original ppc bcm4311 kext, upgrade to 10.5.8 and you have to use the original 10.5.6 bcm4311 kext in order for it to work without crashing. Upgrade to 10.6 or 10.7 or 10.8 and the bcm4311 kext fix no longer works as the original bcm4311 kext is ppc, not x86.
Any ideas as what to do?
