    Default Network connectivity problems

    Hi,

I have Mac OS Lion running on my desktop but i have problems with the NIC. It's a Realtek 8111B chip. I've tried different driver no luck so far. When i'm for example coping files from my client to my server connection is suddenly broken. Can someone assist me to resolve this problem? Thank you.

    Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-P35-DS4
    Graphics: Nvidia 8600GT
    CPU: Q6600
    4 Gig memory
    Desktop: GA-P35-DS4; Q6600; 4GB; 8600GTS.

It looks like the connection only crashes when i heavily use it (Copying). When i only browse everything is fine. Also when i'm coping files the speed is very different from time to time (60MB - 8MB). If i use AFP or SMB this make no difference for the connection (it crashes).

    Are you using:

    <key>EthernetBuiltIn</key>
    <string>Yes</string>

    in org.chameleon.Boot.plist/com.apple.Boot.plist?

    And this driver:
    RTL81xx OS X Driver [Lnx2Mac's Blog]

    Working fine on my GA-P35C-DS3R.

    DSDT made with Auto Patcher.

    Network >Ethernet > Hardware > Configuration > Automatically

But isn't it a problem with de server?

I downloaded "chameleon wizard" and "ethernet build in" is enabled.

Yes i'll use this driver but when i'm checking "about this mac" i'll see this"

    ethernet:

    Type: Ethernet-controller
    Bus: PCI
    Fabrikantcode: 0x10ec
    Apparaatcode: 0x8168
    Fabrikantcode subsysteem: 0x1458
    Subsysteemcode: 0xe000
    Revisiecode: 0x0001
    Breedte koppeling: x1
    BSD-naam: en0
    Kext-naam: AppleRTL8169Ethernet.kext
    Locatie: /System/Library/Extensions/IONetworkingFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleRTL8169Ethernet.kext
    Versie: 1.1.4a5
I think it uses the wrong driver (the original driver from Apple)

    Network >Ethernet > Hardware > Configuration > Automatically
    yes i have these settings

But isn't it a problem with de server?
I think not my Windows client has great coping speed.

    Thank you for your time.

    Everything looks good
RTL81xx OS X Driver modifies AppleRTL8169Ethernet.kext so you don't see any difference but there are

I can't quarantee that a DSDT is going to solve the problem but you can try.
It's the only difference between our installs. Make a clean install on a empty disk/partition to try.
olarila.com - Lion installation via USB stick using Chameleon
olarila.com - Snow Leopard on Gigabyte Mobos
Make a DSDT with Auto Patcher.
    olarila.com - DSDT Auto-Patcher
There's a patch for your motherboard.

Hope you have a spare disk/partition to try
