Thread: Angelbird Wings

I recently purchased 2 Wings with 2 Crest SSD drives and they were delivered yesterday! Obviously I started playing with it at once and I had to share it with you: it is amazing!
It’s an PCIe RAID card with SSD that are extremely quick. You can put up to four SSD drives on a single Wings card. So with 2 Wings cards I can expand it to eight cards in total! So it’s pretty expandable :-)


My plan is to slowly increase the amount of SSD drives to build a kick ass machine! I installed Chameleon bootloader on the Wings card and installed Mac OS X Lion on the 2 SSD cards (RAID) for crazy speeds. And friends, it is fast, it is amazing :-)

where you did you install Chameleon?
does it boot on RAID as well?

I installed Chameleon on the onboard 32GB drive. I keep an .ISO of Mac OS X Lion there also for quick recovery.

Does it boot RAID as well? sure! I even pulled the card as it is and booted it on an Apple Mac Pro with the install I made on the hack!

Speedy delivery of my goods from Orange Systems, I have Wings 32GB with 1 Crest 60GB SSD & 2 x Crest 120GB, looking forward to playing with it over the weekend.

I heard about this card before. Is it working good with hackintosh? Im planning to build a new compact logic audio system and was already planning to put SSD drives in it. I need best disk performance for my kontakt and exs24 libraries. Has anyone tried it for this task and can advice?
