This is a big bummer, but I can't Mac to install on my g74, I've followed the USB installation tothe letter, but the installation keeps failing. Does anyone know if it's a problem to install it on the second HDD? I really want to get this to work so I can try out lion, but I can't even get it to install. I'm running a stock g74sw, no staples or best buy model here... And trying to install to a guid partition on the second drive. Is there any certain way that I should run the USB other than described in this guide?
Advice would be greatly appreciated
Thanks.
How about G53SX?
Having some trouble
Installed iATKos L2 with no problems, and I am able to boot into Lion perfectly, but only if I use the boot CD. I have installed all the ktexts, and chameleon wizard, and I am able to get to the Chameleon GUI, but when I tell it to load lion, with -v off, it flashes to black, and then my laptop reboots. with -v and -ForceWake=y on it loads through the list of ktexts and stuff with no errors that I can see, then flashes to a black screen with a cursor, and then reboots. I really want to get this working so I can boot off the HDD and not the CD, and like I said, if I boot into Lion off the CD, everything works perfectly.
I have tried -v, -ForceWake=y, -force64, cpus=s busratios=8, and nothing has worked when I boot off the hdd, but with the CD, it works no matter what, and is reading my boot config file, as it changes between -v and no -v when I change the file and reboot.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Adrian
Check your BIOS settings, disable Virtualization, and try to boot -v -x, also, is your system multi-boot, check your HDD partitions order. Good Luck

OSX iAtkos L2 UPDATE 10.7.3 multiboot with Win7
GTX 560M working fully resolution 1920x1080
WIFI working
Ethernet working
Webcam working
Sound Working
Mic working
Touchpad working
I went through the install and so far everything mentioned is working except for the GTX560m, I can't change the resolution and after deleting the AppleDisplayPowerManagement.kext (Or whatever, you know which one I mean) and rebooting my install kernel panics during boot. I had to format and reinstall, now I'm back to where I was before. I'm taking a TM backup now to avoid having to reinstall...again...so if anyone has any tips on how to get acceleration and resolution changes let me know.
Display in "About This Mac" still says "Display 3 MB"
I used Iatkos L2 installation.
get into lion and installed your kext package but canīt shutdown or get into sleep mode. the screen goes dark but the fans and the power led still on.
please help.
im using iAtkos l2 10.7.2 and the computer cont sleep, it doesnt turn on and seems as if it freezes, a black screen, any advise?
Ok, I got the display sorted out (Needed "GraphicsEnabler=Yes" at boot).
My biggest 2 complaints right now are:
- Laptop freezes after being up for 1-2 days.
- Takes at least half a dozen attempts to get it to boot again. It'll either kernel panic at random places during boot or it will get hung up and eventually say "Resetting IOCatalogue". Eventually, between a mix of rebuilding the kext cache and multiple reboots it does boot properly.
These freezes and boot problems make it really hard for me to commit 100% to sticking with this setup, I'd love to dump Windows but...
It seems I may have just solved my boot issues, all along I had been thinking it was an issue with kexts but it may have been Chameleon. I installed Chimera 1.8 instead and I just rebooted twice with no issues at all. No hangs, no kernel panics, nada. This is literally the first time I've had successful boots twice in a row. Woohoo!
Now if only it would stop freezing every 1-2 days...
