Thread: Asus G74 Lion Guide!

Lion 11A511 Gold Master/*Retail install. Install for Lion on G74SW:

This is a modified asus g73/g74 guide specifically for the g74 to not have issues

1. Make sure you have at least 8 GB usb drive. Follow MaLd0n's instruction on how to create a "Lion installation via USB stick using Chameleon, Lion installation via USB stick using Chameleon - InsanelyMac Forum

2. Restart, press "ESC", and choose to boot with USB you just created. When you get to chameleon boot screen choose "Mac OS X Base System". boot with flags -v -f busratio=8 cpus=1 IGNORE ALL ERRORS, i got past them by just letting it sit for 30 seconds after i got a bootcachectl error 2408 Make sure you choose GUID partition scheme (or find and apply a mbr patch so you dont have to format an entire disk!)in diskutil and format/name your drive "Lion". And follow the directions to finish OS X Install.

3. After you install, restart, press "ESC", and boot with the same USB. Once you see chameleon boot screen choose "Lion" or whatever you named it.

4. Use Chameleon Wizard within package and install Chameleon

5.INSTALL THESE KEXTS with a kext wizard/installer http/www.kexts.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=1955 (package with chameleon wizard and kext manager below)

6. For Nvidia GTX 560m download and install(NOT NEEDED IF PACKAGE ABOVE DOWNLOADED) Asus G74 BBK7 Nvidia GTX 560M needed kexts - Downloads - OSx86.netAfter you will have full acceleration!! Just remember to delete AppleGraphicsPowerManagement.kext from S/L/E.

7.Delete AppleHDA.kext from S/L/E.

8. What's working: Speedstep/Audio/GTX 560M/USB 3.0 with full acceleration/backlit keyboard after sleep/Multitouch touchpad/Webcam/Ethernet/Sleep, lid close. What's not working: SD Card reader.

Why don't you zip them up, then upload them to Mega Upload or something of the sort?

The reason I say this, is I've tried to find the programs (and have used many methods in attempt to install Lion on this laptop, and have had no real success, and was hoping your guide would be the key!

The attachments, like I said, are not working, and It would be just as simple to upload them to Mega-Upload and link there, or rather provide links where we can get said files, because specifically I don't know what's int he kext.zip file or the chamel.zip file.
