    Default 10.6 / 10.6.8. installation on Lifebook E8110 Core 2 Duo Intel ICH7 Chipset

    I installed Snow Leopard 10.6 on a PC using iBoot CD and Snow Leopard retail DVD.

    (Core 2 duo 3GHz / 1GB DDR2 Ram / Intel ICH9 Chipset / nvidia 8800 GTS / Gigabyte P35-DS4 Mainboard)

    Update to 10.6.8 (ComboUpdate) works perfect after using MultiBeast 3.9.1 (Snow Leopard Edition) using EasyBeast
    - Networks is okay at once
    - Sound works perfect with Voodohda 0.2.7.2
    - Video was on 1024 x 768 but after installing nvenabler (GraphicsEnabler=Yes)
    using NVEnabler64.kext NVinject.kext and Natit-a.kext
    Thanks so far to the developers

    Now I want to make it run on my Fujitsu Lifebook E8110
    (Core 2 duo 1,8 GHz / 1GB DDR2 Ram / Intel ICH7 Chipset / Intel GMA 950 Graphics) // see specs in Signature
    But booting the copied system only brings me to the point
    "still waiting for root device " or
    "System uptime in Nanoseconds: 819001187" using no "GraphicsEnabler=Yes" boot flag
    on startup. Same Error using the iBoot + retail DVD method

    - AHCI settings are correct in the BIOS
    - Boot flags like -v -x or -v -x GraphicsEnabler=No or -v -x CPURootUID=1
    don't change anything

    Is my Lifebook not compatible to 10.6 / 10.6.8 or is there anything other I could try on it.
    Using IPC 10.5.6 works perfect on the Lifebook E8110 supporting Graphics, Sound, LAN
    only no WLAN as this is not working on 10.5 but on 10.6
    I need 10.6 or better to make some newer Software work.

    Is it perhaps some old kext I have to remove like AppleHDA.kext ?

    Thanks a lot for any hint.

    I installed the OS X 10.6.8 on a PC and copied the partition with dd if=/dev/disk0s2 of=/dev/disk2s2
    to the Lifebook-HDD. Now I can boot with -v -x GraphicsEnabler=Yes (or No) until the blue screen.
    But I can't reach the login.
    Perhaps I need to remove some kext or anther Boot flag ?
    Anyone with an idea how to solve ?

    On the Lifebook E8110 I can boot a 10.7 Version.
    I can't install it from USB directly but I can install the base System on the core2duo PC
    (Gigabyte Mainboard GA-P35-DS4 intel ICH9 chipset a great board that can
    boot 10.5 10.6 10.7 anything a good install system) and boot it after plugging the HD
    to my E8110.

    The only thing is:

    Solution is stuck on 1024x768
    no network, no sound; installing EasyBeast with trackpad works - for the keyboard also.

    Now, the grapics card is a Intel GMA945

    The sound was working on Thireus release light edition voodooHDA
    The network was Intel Youkon from IPC 10.5.6

    Can I install these similar to IPC 10.5.6 by KextHelper

    And wich kext do I need for the Intel HD 945 / 950 graphics ?
    With a boot flag like GrapicsEnabler=Yes or No ?

    Please can anyone give me a sign ?

    You could try these kexts for graphics:

    http://www.osx86.net/view/2141-gma950_+_lion.html

    For other devices look for the kexts compatible with Lion and install them with Kext Wizard:

    Kext Wizard 3.7.10 - Downloads - OSx86.net

    Use Maintenance tab to repair permissions and rebuild cache/mkext.

    Maybe, I'll give it up with the Lifebook E8110 Core 2 duo ICH7 Intel Chipset.
    -> This Week a Lenovo G560 with Core i3-350m and the nvidia geforce 310m comes
    - new laptop, new luck !

    This one should make 10.6.8 and 10.7 run properly - only to combine the
    boot of 10.6 / 10.7 / win7 / Kubuntu Linux seems a little difficult still,
    because the chimera bootloader can't find Linux and the GRUB bootloader
    can only boot osx with all Kernel flags set right in the .com.apple.boot.plist file.
    - As far as I know from IPC 10.5.6

    Has anyone a hint for a multiosx bootloader or will I keep on boot-cd or usb-stick
    with chameleon / chimera on it or just edit the osx boot file until I can startup
    without any flag like GraphicsEnabler=Yes ?

    Stay on trying !

    Wow, a nice link, thanks a lot - This will make some things easier.
    I wanted to install it with 10.7 (.dmg) USB method or 10.6 DVD (or transferred to USB by disk utility)

    The thing with 10.7 on the Lifebook E8110 (core 2 ich7) is strange, using Kext Wizard:

    - I can load the kext into Kext Wizard using Kext Info:
    Check kext -> using one of the kexts I want to install (p.e. voodooHDA) it says it is i386 architecture.

    Messages:
    com.apple.iokit.IOAudioFamily = 1.8.3f4
    com.apple.IOPCIFamily = 2.6.1
    com.apple.kpi.iokit = 11.0
    com.apple.kpi.libkern = 11.0
    com.apple.kpi.mach = 11.0

    Load Kext fails with the message:
    Error /Users/****/OSXkext/VoodooHDA.kext
    failed to load - (libkern/kext)
    validation failure (plist/executable)
    check the system/kernel logs for errors or try kextutil(8)

    But if I try to boot with: arch=i386 I get a kernel panic at boot.
    to boot with: arch=X86 boots as if I just boot like -v

    So the kexts I use shall be for 10.7 and able to work for X86
    looks new for me while I thought my core 2 would be like i386

    But thank you again for the first hint: Now I can look up for other kexts and try out.
