    Hi everybody!

I'm about to install Mac OS X Lion for quite a long time and finally -after a long period of research- I decided
    to start this project.
I found a lot of threads in numerous forums so this thread could or should be used as a compendium of gathered information for everybody because it was quite time-killing to get all of the pieces of information. It can also be used for other Notebooks with the following specs:

    Acer JE50_HR Motherboard
    Intel Core i7-2630QM 2GHz CPU
    8 GB DDR3 Memory
    NVIDIA Geforce GT 540m

    BIOS V 1.16 (unlocked)
    Acer Crystal Eye webcam

I am using the iAtkos L2 but we got a problem starting off at the beginning:

    THE DVD DOES NOT BOOT!

It just shows the iAtkos Screen and stands still. Also pressing f8 does not cure the problem?

What should be set up in bios?

    Solved it!
I finally installed OSX Lion 10.7.3 on my Acer Aspire 5750g and it is close to perfection!
Since this is a kind of never ending project there still is some work to do, for example fixing bluetooth and the headphone jack problem but i got the solutions, just waiting to pass my exams to get on that.

    + Nvidia Gefore GT 540m
    + Onboard Intel HD3000
    + Audio (Codecs + Loudspeakers)
    + No Kernel Panics
+ Multitouch Trackpad Gestures (2 Fingers)
    + Dualboot with Windows 7
    + LAN Ethernet
    + WLAN
    + USB
    + Power Management
    + Mouse
    + Keyboard
    + Screen Brightness
    + Webcam
    + HDMI (Video)

    - Bluetooth
    - Headphone Jack
    - Mic Input
    - Boot still too slow
    - HDMI (Audio)
    { + = works ; - = not tested yet/not working }

Im gonna post my progress these days so you guys can use this thread as a tutorial for your notebooks with my specifications!

Does the 540m really work? Or is it just booting with it but not working?

Can you slightly remember which ones? I've got a 520m version myself. Do you have a modded bios? Do you also only have 2 optens, integrated and switchable or another. I've got different problems when using graphicsenabler or not.

    EDIT:
ahhh i see, unlocked bios, will try that soon.

    here are the messages:
    with -v cpus=4 maxmem=4096 without graphic enabler
    ioapic:version 0x20 vector 64:87
    with -v cpus=4 maxmem=4096 GraphicsEnabler=Yes

    EDIT2:
Got me an unlocked bios but have you changed anything in video settings?

@langerik: installing the gt540/520m is not that easy, you have to fix the problem by patching your dsdt. do you have sound, chipset, trackpad etc working?

To all my other bros ridin on a limped geforce 540m. put some swag on it with this:

@macodman I'm using the guide from this thread(page6). I've got sound, trackpad(up to two fingers) intel hd3000(do HDMI no VGA) and lan+Wifi. I've got a pre-made DSDT from their thread.

got the broadcom lan and an Atheros 9287 for wifi. The wifi has a nice story. When i received my aspire with broadcom wifi it wouldn't connect to my home network so i did a RMA, i've got it back with atheros(and broadcom sticker on bottom) so if it would've worked right away i wouldn't have wifi now because the broadcom isn't supported.
But i do have to reconnect wifi after every reboot/wake from sleep, in the other thread they've got a workaround but haven't got any will to do that, maybe later.

Will try your kexts later but i think it hasn't got my id's.

@langerik: lol thats what i call good luck so your system is almost set up for the first round. i dont know if the 540 and the 520 have the same driver id's but you can try it out.

yes it worked for me but it is not clear to me when it starts to work since it is a switchable gpu. there also is no driver software with settings to control it like it is in windows yet. i turned it off because of the noise and the heat this thing made, it is working permanently in my case.

if you got a good dsdt you can patch it with chameleon wizard, just locate the downloaded patch file with it and patch your dsdt. it is very easy

If it is not difficult, you can show your dsdt? or only the last block with the videocard nvidia
