Here's an update. I restored, and then reapplied the patch. When I rebooted I just got the first page with the apple logo and the spinning wheel. I let that spin for about 20 minutes but it never finished booting. I powered off, and had to boot to the recovery partition again. From there I was able to select the start up disc to be my os X partition to be the startup disc, the computer rebooted, and after a couple minutes it rebooted fully, but the 64 bit kernel and extensions still say no.
But to restate, after I apply the patch it doesn't reboot normally. It only reboots after I hold down option and boot to the recovery partition first.
Second update. I again restored and reapplied the patch. I've rebooted and been on the spinning wheel for the last 30 minutes.
