Red face Can I upgrade the 32bit kernel to 64bit kernel on a Macbook 1,1

    Hello!
Very new to the forums and I have a question:
Can I upgrade the 32bit kernel to 64bit kernel on a Macbook 1,1?

    Thanks.

Sorry in advance if this has been asked and answered somewhere else.

    Maybe yes...

Try this tip from netkas > netkas.org » Unlocking 64-bit efi Macbooks for 64-bit kernel.

    Try applying this patch:

    x64patch-10.7.tar.bz2 (for Lion)

    or

    x64patch-10.6.8.tar.bz2 (for Snow Leopard)

Yes, I have made those patches.

Should work for all models which need it, though there are display brightness / sleep problems with models using the Intel GMA X3100 (no properly working 64-bit kexts).

Here is some discussion about boot.efi patching: http://netkas.org/?p=189
