Hi,
I'm a noob in "Hackintoshing". I learned a lot of things in the last 7-8 days. At last my Hackintosh PC is almost completely finished. I have a Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P with Intel Core 2 Duo Q9300 (at 2.5GHz) and 4GB of memory (DDR2 at 1066MHz). For the graphics, I have a NVIDIA 8500 GT (512MB) and thats where the problem starts.
In addition of installing Mac OS X on my PC I followed the "Install Snow Leopard on Your Hackintosh PC, No Hacking Required" from Lifehacker and Adam Pash with the only varriation of booting (I booted with iBoot 2.7.2 of Tonymacx86). Last thing I did was installing the EP45-UD3P package (the installation succedeed)
The installation went as it supposed to, but when it comes to graphics, my 8500GT is not working as it should be. Although Mac OS X gives me the 1920x1200 resolution I need, for my Dell U2410 display (worked out of the box) the OS shows me only this resolution. Just one.
Another problem is that System Preferences shows me that I dont have "Graphics by NVIDIA" it only shows me "GPU" and in VRAM it shows me "32MB". Again, when I am placing a gadget on the desktop I dont see the ripple effect.
I have to add that the only thing I did prior to make NVIDIA 8500GT to work was to :
- Run OSX86Tools and created an EFI String for my card (didnt work) and to
- Click on the "Enable Quartz etc..." in OSX86Tools again (in the upleft corner)
How can I fix my NVIDIA 8500 GT ?
PS : Oh, I forgot to say that my browsers (Safari,Chrome,Firefox) crash all the time when it comes to "Flash" sites. I think it is a "hardware-acceleration related" issue.. Right?
